Took me to about the end of OE at the second job. About 3 months at the first.

Half kidding! It sucks sometimes, and I miss home and my girl often times while on the road, but I definitely enjoy it overall. Wouldn't change.

You can tell the bitter Space Mt people 'cause we cheer when we hear this:

"Space Shuttle, this is flight safety. All flights are currently in a holding pattern. Please remain in your rocket trains. Flights may resume at any moment."

Yep, the ride broke. Now we get to go run around rickety wooden track, take people off the ride, tell them they can come back later, and NO I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE FIXED!

I've been flying 121 for about 4 months. I just got home after totally getting shafted.
I was suppossed to travel to BET today to fly tommorrow. Well, my company doesn't provide positive space tickets to/from BET (even for ANC pilot getting sent out there for a couple of days) and of-course I don't make it on the flight. Unfortunately I forgot my passport and couldn't JS out there. So, Operations tell me that Alaska has a frieghter flight out to BET in about 5 hours. So, I get in my car and drive the 55 miles back home to get my passport. Well, you guessed it, as I drive into the parking lot (back at the airport) Ops calls and says your not going to BET and you've got reserve from 8AM to 10PM tommorrow........

I had to take a deep breath and drive the 55 miles back to the house. In 1 day I drove 240 miles (4 hours on the road) sat in the airport for 2 hours getting the big "NO" and probably won't get paid a dime for doing all that. Not a dime, nope - nada.

Anyways, I better stop complaining and look at the brighter sides.

I called another pilot out in BET and he was "welcome to aviation".
