The Future of JC

I have one of these. When it isn't holding my hat, it holds my soft-shell jacket.
Of course you do.

I've seen the light.

The best pizza is:

DTW style.
Ok, I just want to put this out there. I still stand by this, but I had literally the best pizza in my life in Arcata a few days ago. I got a tomato, black olive, pepperoni, fresh garlic 16" pizza from Smug's in McKinleyville and it blew me away.

I actually liked that layover. The breakfast place near the hotel was pretty good too.

That's the problem with free company issued bags. They all look the same. I heard so many horror stories of someone taking the wrong bag I put an orange ribbon on my handle. Still, there were so many times I'd be wandering around the luggage storage rack looking for my bag in a sleepy stupor at 3am. People, imagine a three layered metal shelf system about 120 feet long, unmarked in any way, and everyone throws there matching bags on there to store them during the sort.
Story time.

Last month was js’ing on polar from nrt-lax. Met the handler and the crew in the terminal and they escorted all of us through the crew security. First in line were two UPS dudes. Then the four Polar folks, followed up by my self and then two Cebo Pacific guys. All of us are chatting our way through the check point, get out on the other side and off to immigration we go followed by the van to the plane.

Fast forward 9 hours and it’s now 4am on the ICC ramp at LAX. The crew and I are getting in the van to take us over to TBIT to clear customs when the captain audibly says “well f*** me!”

Turns out him and one of the UPS pilots accidentally exchanged roll aboards through the NRT security check point. The Polar Captain’s bag was now in Shanghai while the UPS pilot’s bag was at LAX.

Yikes! That's scary. My fear is ending up in another country without my stuff.

That's good. I should check to see if my info is on all my bags. Some of our planes don't have room for bags in the cabin, so they go in the bulk area. My fear is it gets left behind.
Yeah, that surprised me that you guys don’t just throw them in the corner somewhere.

We can fit three up front. But we're not supposed to put any bags behind the supernumerary seats because they're not secured. We run into issues with catering just leaving cases of water laying around too.

I would assume you have the same configuration as us and we routinely have room for 6 people's bags up top without putting them behind the seats

Interesting. All up front? We can get one under the window licker seat, maybe two in the closet where we hang up our coats, and depending on the size, one in the cubby by the Captain.

There's a closet next to the galley, can probably fit at least 3-4 bags in there. Next to the L1 door there's a few compartments that will hold 2-4 bags depending on 22 or 26inch

About half our fleet is missing the closet next to the galley. With that closet we can easily get all the bags up top. Some of the other planes are missing the cupboards by the L1 door and has a flight attendant jumpseat there instead. Those planes came from LAN Chile and Emirates. They must do things a little differently.
