The "ER FO"

my favorite are the mid jan-feb overnights in YHZ, YQM and YYT.

I never mind those. It's hockey season up there. :D

On the other side of the spectrum, I know of one pilot who is contemplating whether the trouble of this career is worth it. All the stress, commuting, time away from home, missed holidays, missed weekends, medicals, proficiency checks, and management breathing down your neck. Mainly the commuting and time away from home.

This is a great career, and we get to some really great places, but it sure takes it's toll on life.

I'm going to bid ATH in August I think!

I wanted to knock out a Berlin, Bucharest and finally get to Rome, but I'll preference ATH next month for sure!
I thought we were going for Kiev in August? you can't do ATH the first time without me Taylor! :banghead: Plus ATH would probably be nicer during their winter weather, wouldn't it?

athens gets really really hot in the summer. i was there two years ago in may and thought i was on the sun. athens is cool for about 2 days. you must go out and explore the islands.

You could do a "2 man" LGW first then a 3 man trip. Just not the other way around. You could also back up 2 "2 man" trips. International is 32 in 7.

im going to have to buy one of those air conditioners for the neck on sharper image. hahahaha that would be a sight.

I've had my very first flight as F/O to OTP. And your Czech flight attendant was absolutely right, by saying not to judge eastern Europe only by visiting Bucharest... you have to go to some other places to experience the "real" eastern Europe.quote]

Yeah like Bratislavia!!!:sarcasm:

like hot...like florida...or hot...like phoenix? ;)

phoenix. its a dry heat no worries about that. i would rather take the dry heat over humidity any day.

side note: am i going to see you this weekend in nj?

Greece is great for the summer because of the great beaches and you have a huge selection of islands to visit it. As for Athens during the summer, the climate I would say is like California, very dry, not humid. The temperature can get up there by mid-afternoon but you can expect it to become very comfortable during evening and night. If you stay on the coast you won't have problem, you have a nice sea breeze blowing :)

As for winter, it can become rainy and sometimes snow mostly in Northern Athens but it rarely does. Temperatures vary between 5-10 degrees.

If you want to go sight seeing and not planning to leave Athens, winter might be the best .. but Athens still has its nice beaches and all the stores on the beach during summer season which is great.

Florida, IMO, because of the humidity alone! at least in phx, when it's 114, you can get in the shade and it feels like it's 80 and not 120.

When I visited DCA in August 2001 it was air conditioned and cool in the terminal. As soon as I left, when I walked out the door it was like someone hit me in the chest with a bat.

Turns out that day they had 100% humidity, gaaaahhh!

No thanks...

Florida heat, hands down. Story time....

We were flying from MCO to LAS to play in a SWA softball tournament. We left on the first flight outta MCO at around 6 AM, and it was already hot and muggy (about 98 with 99% humidity). We land in LAS, step outside and immediately say "Damn! It feels nice here! What is it, like 80?" The bank sign across the street proudly displayed the temperature --- 113. Yeah, I'll take the dry heat anyday.

Heat sucks. I don't care if it's "dry" or not, I hate the heat.

It's been upper 80's/lower 90's for a couple weeks here, and I'm going NUTS. I can't stand it.
