I'm not sure how anyone can compare "with you" to "good night" or similar friendly phrases. Saying "good night" is just being polite. Saying "with you" is just pointless.
The only controller I have ever heard complain about "with you" is Bernoulli Fan and I am pretty sure that is because he was a pilot and flight instructor first. And I think about that every time I take an FAA course or computer based instruction, because they invariably use "with you."
In the short time I have been flying, this is the one I dislike the most.Controller: "Traffic one o'clock, three miles."
Aircraft: "No joy."
