It doesnt bother me at all. I hear a lot of stupid stuff on the radio. I just dont like talking period it takes time away from my nap. So I respond with the least amount of words possible. Usually just "callsign, 28000"
Not that anyone cares, but the AIM says exactly what should be said when you are contacting a new controller.
You're correct, but you'd still better follow it.One minor issue... "The AIM is not regulatory." (ducks)
#This from a NUMBER of controllers that I worked with.
What about checking in with "inside you"?

Got him on the box! (As though that helps the controller somehow...)
...er, disregard...Roger, maintain box separation.
Evenin' center, Southernjets 222 suck my balls at FL340, smooth ride, tell your mom I said hi.
With the exception of "Unicorn" in place of Uniform, I agree."With you" never bothered me as much as people who don't use the proper phonetic alphabet. "Washington Center Citation 215 Sugar Pop with you at three one oh."
I'm fairly certain I've also heard this man... just noBack in my student pilot days I flew with a guy who responded to every clearance with "here we go." Even then, so much cringe.
