The Cherokee_Cruiser Pilot Hiring Grievance Thread

Oh please, you only care about Acro when you can temporarily wear her plight like a cape on Halloween. If you cared, you wouldn’t be a gleeful part of a political coalition hellbent on robbing her of her own rights and agency.

Spare Jetcareers the “Sir, I’m very concerned about your fuel injectors, we offer a $900 dollar cleaning service that’s on special today for $399” at Oil Can Henry’s ersatz empathy.

Nah. The crowd is just butthurt correcting harmful factual errors at some hard truths conjecture from the outside uneducated perspective. I have no dog in this fight, excluding 2016-2019. [Where I was incapable of making the jump to a legacy, gave up, and now blame the hiring system instead of looking inward to make changes.] I couldn’t care less and haven’t for 6 years now. This rejection still bothers me greatly even though I yell loudly that it does not. I interject myself into every hiring thread to preach about the rigged system and hiring practices so that I can feel better about my previous rejection. I capped max pay at 38 and if things go well, retire #3. I still have plenty of time left to make the jump to a legacy but will continue to keep the status quo because I’m stubborn, refuse to change, and refuse to accept responsibility for my rejection. We will only know if we made the right choice at age 65 (soon to be 67), even though a quick read through the CBA and some grade school level mathematics tell me I should make the jump.

Anyway, I still call out the BS of hiring people who have literally bent 121 airplanes in the past, yet good folks like Acro don’t get a chance. I still try to use a JC member as a pawn for my argument even though it’s detrimental to her career because I really don’t care about her career, just trying to prove “I’m right.”

Fixed it for you.

Words matter, I said good people like Acro. I care about her, she’s a long term member, and I wish her the best.

Let’s make the point even more generic:

I call out the BS of hiring people who have literally bent 121 airplanes in the past, yet good folks who haven’t bent a plane still don’t get a chance. It be like running a rape crisis center and hiring a person convicted of rape, versus a good crime-free candidate. We are in the business of moving planes safely. Bending 121 airplanes runs counter to that. Maybe wing tip scrappy shouldn’t have made it to a big 3 just 9 months after scraping a wing tip in a RJ. There’s no shortage of people who landed just normally in the past.

And people like Marvin or Conrad, there’s no point asking them what they learned about their failures. Once you have a repeated chain of failures in gen av AND continued repeated failures in 121, they shouldn’t see the light of day at any other carrier. That’s just a future incident/accident waiting to happen. A career change is the safest option for them. The paying public and your fellow crew member deserve better.

Newsflash, no one actually owes anyone a pilot job. I don’t know why we coddle the people who shouldn't be in 121 flight decks. Stop hiring them.

Let me save you some anxiety.

I’m going to move the posts into their own thread so you can see the actual “market” for your grievances instead of attaching yourself to a popular topic like a Remora does to a shark.

Everytime someone says this, I think:
