The batteries will last longer using it if you plan on going on some extended cross countries and forget a spare set.I didn't even realize there was, but now that you mention it, yep, it's got one. Good to know.![]()

Nice. I have the Zulu 1's. I really want to do an actual side by side with the 1's vs the pfx and see how much if any difference there is.
Does the PFX have an aux port? Reason I ask is because audio quality is usually crap over bluetooth just because the nature of bluetooth. The audio quality in my zulu 1 over the aux port is freaking amazing.
Yes, they'll do radio in mono and bluetooth/aux in stereo at the same time.
I am very strongly considering trading up my Zulu 1s for the PFX. The Zulu 1s are extremely comfortable. But time to upgrade. The SAAB isnt exactly quiet.Zulu PFX. I walked into Aircraft Spruce and told him to give me the headset with the absolute maximum noise cancellation. Almost had a coronary when he rung up the price. But damned if they aren't good. Almost every bit of the low frequency noise just vanishes. Makes the Bose look like a toy.
Homie, pull those props back and no more than 55%'torque.I am very strongly considering trading up my Zulu 1s for the PFX. The Zulu 1s are extremely comfortable. But time to upgrade. The SAAB isnt exactly quiet.
1230, and about 60% is what we get at FL250. Recently we ran out of PL before achieving charted TQ.
Good to know! I may try that next time I get some shorter stage length flight. Anything over 3 hours and I am ready to get out of the seat. That will happen. We didn't have the stage lengths you do unless we were repo'ing across half the country. Most of our flights were sub 1 hour. I would pull the condition levers all the way back and hover between 55-60% torque in normal flying conditions. Made for a quite(r) ride and most of the time ended up being less than 5 min behind the guy going full bore.

Sometimes we come back from Dutch Harbor empty, so we shoot right up. Of course this is also winter which helps.Other times its a step climb. Spending three hours in icing and turbulence just sucks, so its nice to get above it.The Saab up to FL250? That must have taken forever.
Yes, @amorris311 loved saving fuel. While some always stuck to the charts, I subscribed to the "just keep it in the green" mentality. Of course, @amorris311 never got close to anything red.
What type are you flying?I've been flying with the DC Pro-X's for almost a year now, and they are frickin' awesome!

@Derg , does your company supply headsets in the plane? Ours are pretty good. Sanheiser something ANR on our 190's. I just clean them with a alcohol wipe and carry my own boom mic cover.

The David Clark DC Pro X ENC headsets.
Sweet nectar of the gods.
Yes, they're spendy, you find find them at a slight discount at the DTW Stopover store and have you priced-out hearing aids and audiologists?![]()
Rich people problems. I have a problem just affording the batteries in my old BoseX.
@Derg how is it on long flights? Does it feel like a clamp on your head like the Bose X headset used to?
I mostly do 5.5 - 6.5 hr transcons and am wondering if at the end of it you just want to take it off / hurt yourself.
Currently I use the Telex 850 ANR and am considering this one. Did you use the Telex 850? How does this new one compare?
Thanks!
I miss my props, but I do like being able to hear at the end of the day now too. That will happen. We didn't have the stage lengths you do unless we were repo'ing across half the country.
