The Benefit of Social Networking...

That would be Mr. out of touch with reality, the one and only Shyguy. Or Cherokee Cruiser who said that.
You mad bro?

I have a way of staying in touch with people. It's through phone, email, or text. I don't need social media to do it. A 'fool' is a pilot who lost his chance at a job because he was tagged in a photo he was unaware of and it came to surface. Poor guy. Frankly, I'm more from a train of thought that the less there appears with your full name typed in google, the better off you are. If I meet someone I would like to stay in touch with, I get their phone number and email and stay in touch that way. You don't need facebook to do that.

At my son's schools in the Minny suburbs, both middle and high school, Facebook is dead. I asked about it and the response from my 16 year old...."No I dont use it, facebook is for old people".

What is 'in' then?

You may also want to give them a history lesson on why Facebook was started.......

Snapchat and Twitter are the popular ones with teens right now. Tinder is also popular. They dont stick to one particular favorite social media app/site like they used to. They move around like Afgan insurgents.

Tinder is pretty funny. I've messed around on it (18+ only, though ;)). I'm 30, and I'm the old man on there among 20-22 year olds. Some girls like that, though. :D

I can imagine someone saying the same thing about the telephone way back when...

Snapchat, Twitter, Vine......As for s history lesson, they would just say, "Yeah, whatever, its for old people now...."

I can't understand people's incessant needs to constantly update their everyday life on social media like Facebook and the equally excessive needs to read about said material. You want to make friends or get in touch? Step away from the computer and try calling them. You also get the added benefit of keeping the snooping government (NSA types) to know as little as they can about you. They have no business in your personal life like that.
