The Begining!

I don't remember any exact moment that I became interested in aviation, or when I first decided I wanted to be a pilot. My mother was a travel agent so I always got lots of aviation-related trinkets and such and had quite a few trips when I was young. I don't remember either what my mother said when I wanted to take lessons, but I've always had her full support.

Well my dad is a doctor a medical specialist so he was always on the go.

My mom was always picking him up from the airport and dropping him off. Well that was back in the early 80's when Braniff had all those crazy colors.

My mom said that at age 2 I asked what those weird looking planes were and from there I was hooked.

She said that I would fly my finger around the house and play with banana's because apparently I though 727's looked alot like banana's because Braniff had an all yellow 727 livery.

When I got older say about 14-15 or so in the summer when school was out she'd drop me off in the morning say about 10-11am at TIA/TUS (Tucson International Airport).

I'd spend the whole day at the airport with a packed lunch and watch the planes takeoff and harass pilots and follow em around the airport when they were coming in from the plane to grap a quick bite to eat like a wide eyed drooling kid asking em all sorts of dumb questions no doubt.

So yea I was psycho

But the bug has never left me and I hope to be flying for a regional or something in like 3-4 yrs.

yeah my parents werent really sure about it. Howd you guys pay for it. did u just work for all of it or did u get ur family to pay for it. how much did it cost u to get ur PPL

I've paid for it by many many thousands of dollars worth of student loans. The cost of my PPL here (ERAU) was right around $9000, though expect to pay much less than that elsewhere.

I was unemployed. The government agreed to hire me, where I was forced through pilot training.

So here I sit.
