I think we've got like 30,000 flights per day. How do you want to profile the say, 100 passengers on each flight? That's three million people, my friend.
Let's take the example of a guy who's sweating profusely, checking his watch every ten seconds.
Is that because he's a businessman travelling to Omaha to meet with a huge client who might miss his flight because of the line? Or is it because he's the next Timothy McVeigh?
Dave, as far as the threats from the terrorists, they are real, and nobody, myself included, will downplay them. The hard part is to find a way to fight them without destroying the civil liberties that you and I need to have if the American way of life is to continue.
Remember how they used sarin in the Tokyo subways? Now, if some sicko from that cult escaped, and tried it in the US, I sure as hell don't want everyone staring at me when I get on the subway. And I don't want the cops searching my bags just because I look like that guy.
