Terrible line in March. FAR 117 to blame?

SLC Bro FO...I love my March schedule. 89 credit with 12 days off. Not much, but I did manage to get all weekends off, for the first time ever. 117 had very little impact to our schedules. Losing SUN to the RJ did. Now that we're picking up VEL, CNY, and PUB, our lines are looking good again.
The magic letters: SLC. :-)

FAT bro here.. 89:25 credit and 13 days off. Better than Feb where I'll break 100 credit with 11 days off.

Since FAR 117 implementation I seem to always have a stretch of 6-7 days off during the month, but then get stuck with back to back trips or single day off between trips.

I can't imagine there being that much more flying in FAT to demand 5-7 FO vacancies, but I also don't pay very much attention to the place.

My line is not even close to that! I must have done something pbs didn't like.

Why not bid reserve if you live in base?
Many and varied reasons. Some of us like having control of our schedules (what little control you can get as a low-seniority lineholder, mind, but control nonetheless). Also depends on your reserve rules and how things are staffed.

When we're low on pilots, you'll fly everyday, defeating the point of voluntarily bidding RSV (IMO, that's the point - other than specific days off).

90+ for March - 10 days off.... this time last year was around 70 IIRC with 20 days off....Bidding about halfway up the list. What truly concerns me is assigning standups followed by four days continously. THAT is fatiguing. Needless to say I won't be doing them.

10 days? How is that even possible.

Yikes, I hope you don't enjoy spending time with your wife and kids.

For whatever reason - our base got the worst pairings by far company wide. 5 four days for the month with a standup here and there. Couple that with 16 hour credit trips and it's the worst month I've had at this company. I've switched bases for that reason. I'd like to see my family.

I was awarded 98:52 hours block in March. I did not even bid max credit. The most I've ever had (even bidding max credit) is 92 hours. We are way short staffed in March.
I simply wanted to see if this was common among my regional brethren for March (I'm at SKW). If it is, why at your airline? Thanks in advance.

The schedules at my place have been seemingly just as productive as they were before the new rules. I have been pleasantly surprised thus far. February, I ended up with 11 days off and ~130 hours credit.

I saw a 38 hour 5-day trip in the bid packet for March. Two of those would be a complete schedule.

130 Hours? Ballin!!! :)

Agree the schedules have been pretty good. I was awarded 88 hours and 15 days off this month. Meow I've got it to 13 and 103, purrfect. I'm not even senior either.
