Oh god. How do you justify exposing your FO involuntarily to music that YOU personally like during work hours? I had to google what ‘Master of Puppets’ is. What possibly makes you think that is the kind of music I would like to listen to?

Over a decade, I only had a couple CAs play music on a device they’d leave in the flight deck. One was an absolute rage of drums and screaming. I told him to please turn that crap off. He said oh you don’t like my choice of music, I said no. And he shut it.

Define good music? What makes you think the type or band of music you like is good and something the FO will like?


I’ll tell you what the best music is when preparing for a flight..... silence from your Bluetooth device. When will some of these CAs learn that the cockpit isn’t really a place to subject your FOs to subjective crap like this?

Agree, never been a fan of the music on in the cockpit.

I bought a CZ75. Ammo is finally in, 2 weeks after ordering. Now gotta drive 128 miles roundtrip to go pick it up. And no, I won't snap. I now have a solution to anyone who plays their favored version of music in the flight deck: counter it full blast with Aqua's Barbie Girl.

Once when I was in college and United would basically hire a fresh college graduate if he had a 727 FE certificate. And another time where I was thinking “Holy cow, I’d be top 30% 737 captaiin in MCO and can almost hold Mad Dog captain in DFW and I’ve barely been here three years” on September 10, 2001.

Yeah, that was His Astutenesses' weird supposition. *OF COURSE* the C/A ASKED us whether we wanted to listen to his music. You'd have to be autistic not to, or...

In any case, it being Master of Puppets, obviously we both enthusiastically agreed! No commies on THAT flight deck!
