Swa to hire 9

So which is it, 48k or 53k for starting pay?

Okay, base rate of about $5087/mo plus the license add-on comes up to $64,800. As an assistant you will make 74% of base, plus the full add-on, which comes up to $49,300. Since no one comes in as a full dispatcher (unless you're an Airtran dispatcher) you will be making assistant pay, thus effectively starting pay is around $49k gross.

PERFECT!! I'm printing that out right now to put up in the office.

Is that popular? What's the benefit?

Not that I couldn't do 6 days. I have worked 90 days straight a couple times. 6 is a walk in the park.

This is how the process worked last year:

You will receive an email indicating starting pay and emphasizing that you MUST relocate to Dallas and no relocation expenses will be paid. Are you still interested?

You will then go a few weeks without hearing a word and then they will call to set up testing. Some last time around didn't even hear back until the Friday before testing. They will fly you on down to DAL and you will take a test with around 10-20 other people. They usually have two testing groups per day, AM or PM. You will also turn in your paper application and other paperwork. You must make an 80 to pass the exam and move on to the next round.

You will get a call a day or two later indicating that you have passed the test, Congratulations! They will then invite you back down to DAL to interview. Interview consists of people department, a senior dispatcher, and the hiring manager. Last about 45 mins to an hour.

From there... you either get a call that you were hired, or you just get left hanging.

Sounds accurate, although i did get a TBNT email. Personally - I wasn't that impressed with the group interview. One of the very few places I've been where you don't even get to see where you'd be working if you get hired. I know they have a lot of interviews, but walking through the SOC would add probably 5-10 minutes to the process at most - ah well. It was evidently a mutual feeling in my case, of course.

I really didn't understand why no one was offered a chance to peek in on dispatch, as it was quite literally 200 feet away from HR. Now I can sort of see why, since the new dispatch office is across the street.

Given the rather aggressive start date they are shooting for, I'd be surprised if you didn't hear back about an interview pretty quick.

Remarkably, the listing is still up!

everything about this is correct EXCEPT the "senior dispatcher" part. not the case at all. it's just some guy or girl that happened to be picked to help interview

if you would of asked, I GUARANTEE they not only would of let you see it, but let you sit with a dispatcher for as LONG as you wanted. I have had interviewees sit with me in the past. did you ask?
