I'm not saying it WILL be held against you - just something to consider. In my previous work life ( at a major airline, different department ) I'm telling you for a fact that people who applied for jobs in the past that they did not meet the requirements for, it brought up serious questions that made us look at the candidate VERY closely.
It wasn't always a major deal - but to say that "It can't hurt" isn't exactly true. Following instructions is a big part of a lot of jobs, and how closely one follows the instructions on job postings are fairly indicative of how well they will follow instructions IRL.
I would personally NEVER apply for a job if I couldn't answer "Yes" to all the stated requirements. Because, I *know* the automated system is going to reject the application and I don't want to be viewed as being unable to interpret the stated requirements. JMHO.
But we've all heard the stories about people getting hired on at majors with no experience...so my only point being that it is worth applying.
