Sunglasses

American Optical eyewear on Amazon. Roughly $50. When I was flying the 145, polarized lenses worked great. But when I switched to the 170, I either have to wear non-polarized or fly with my head cocked sideways! I've been happy with my AO sunglasses. Plus, they look "piloty."

Good choice. AO or RE are the only set I trust. Get them cheap on base. Have a pair of gold and silver for appropriate matching with watch and shoes.

I just bought a pair of Serengeti Pergine's at Costco. I liked the look of them better than the Aviator's but as soon as I put them on in the 170, the screens went black! I could have sworn the Aviator's said polarized so that's why I went with the Pergine's. I'm hoping they make a non-polarized Pergine but I've had no luck searching.

You have to get the Aviators that are specifically non-polarized. The Peregrines only come in polarized, I believe. Just take them back to Costco and get another style on line. There are a couple of models/styles and sizes of the non polarized Aviators available.

I used to love Ray Bans with grey/green lenses until I got my Serengeti Velocity with Drivers Lenses. I don't do well with glare and I can wear these all day IFR or VFR with headsets without an issue of comfort or being able to read displays. Usually online for around $100/pair. It takes me about 4 years to lose them or break them it seems,

AO Optics are about $50 on Amazon. I like my M Frames, I've had them for about 12 years now and they're still kicking.

I think at Optics planet they are even cheaper, not long time ago I bought a pair for 38$

They are pretty sturdy, I lost the first pair but I noticed that the second one I bought started loosing the coating on the frame after 4 months of daily use. I dropped them so many times and the lenses are still in one piece, other the the frame issue they are probably the best pilot sunglasses for the money.

Also avoid using the cleaning cloth they come with, as it stains...

I have seen some Vintage ones on etsy for 15-20 $...
