Sunday Afternoon Hike/BBQ

Re: Monday Afternoon Hike/BBQ

If there is enough transportation out there, I'd love to go.

I finally saw the schedule and the choice seemed to be hike, golf, or lose money in the casinos. Well I don't golf, and I don't really want to spend too much more money than is necessary, so hiking it is!

Re: Monday Afternoon Hike/BBQ

Tony, you have 13 listed now...I've included those that answered the poll.

Out of the 13 do we have 3 cars? I think I see 2 cars in in this thread. If we need the 3rd I'll rent one. Prices look like $30 for the day. If people want to throw in a few bucks for gas I'll cover the car.

So let's have the dirty baker's dozen -- heh heh heh -- meet in the lobby of the Monte Carlo at noon on Sunday.

I have a weekend layover in RNO and could come down just for the hike. Will plan on meeting you folks at Mt. Charleston on Sunday at whatever time is decided upon. Schlitz will be in the trunk. Good times had by all. TonyW is da man....

I'm not sure they're going to Mt. Charleston anymore... I think Tonyw mentioned Red Rock Canyon now since it's closer to the city???

Just might want to clarify tony!!

Yeah, let's go for Red Rock since it's closer to the city. And yes, Don, you are more than welcome to meet us there. You've got my cell number, right?

Let's meet by the concierge desk at 12 noon. That way I can get information from the concierge on the best places to hike at Red Rock and the quickest way to get there.

For those that have done this hike before.....are the trails good enough for tennis shoes or do you need those fancy hikin' boots to get the job done? How long of a hike are we lookin' at for this trip? I'm new to this hikin' thing, so be kind with you responses--yes, I'm an idiot :-) I'll say it first.

I don't plan on doing a super difficult trail unless there's a real desire to do so. So plan on something comfortable shoes will do the trick for. Hell, I may wear my Tevas!

I am thinking after "getting ready" last night (drinking my brains out) that an 8 am show for golf might be a little tough. put me down for the hike.

We might have a bit of a transportation problem now. I think that makes 14 or 15 people. We have 3 cars (that I know of now) and that ain't going to do it unless one of them is REALLY big.

I have 14 on my list (with Dan)

Okie, well, it will be tight, but assuming we can get 5 people in each car, we should be good plus room for one more.

We can rent a minivan if you folks want. We'll be styling in the Dodge Caravan -- should I paint racing stripes on it?
