Student Trying Real Hard to Kill Me

The hardest a student ever tried to kill me was a perfect cross-control stall setup turning base to final during a simulated single-engine circle to land in a Twinstar.

long runway, prop strike, armchair quarterbacking. I wasn't there - guess you did what you felt was right. Glad it worked out.

I guess a incidental prop strike / nose gear collapse (without my interaction) is not cool enough for you guys.

Listen closely just as power was applied, there is a definite sound of a prop-strike, actually sounds very gravelly....if that's even a word.

Where did jhugz say there was a prop strike? It says "without my interaction"...meaning there was *potential* to have one had there not been instructor intervention.

Methinks you guys are hearing things....I've listened to that video several times and I don't hear an actual prop strike. I've only heard that once in real life, and it was *very* obvious sounding.

:dunno:

In all fairness, though, even though I was making a little fun of the "seriousness" of this, the fact is that even "slightly" killing you is still killing you. Slow airplanes can kill you just as easily as fast ones, and good students can make you just as dead as bad student.

Keep those hands near the controls, and intervene early and often. :)

I guess I read "incidental prop strike" as prop strike, I don't know that you can have a "slight" one.

I guess I'll wait for clarification, and if I'm hearing things...I'll gladly eat crow.

This thread is a bigger failure then a certain late night show host and his sex life. I was busting someone's balls so stop busting mine. :)

Edit: No there was not a prop strike. No the nose didn't collapse.

In that case I apologize for "hearing" what I did.

Actually, I'm glad I was wrong.
