Student Trying Real Hard to Kill Me

Yeah I had trouble seeing what it was you are talking about as well. Looked like a relatively shallow/low approach with sloppy lineup, but I didn't notice anything else crazy.....

Looked alright, not great but certainly recoverable. What happened?

Perhaps the "trying to kill me" is by virtue of the student simply flying the airplane...they're always trying to do that, whether you know it or not! Evil, they are.

Boy if that is "trying to kill me" then you are lucky!!! I've had to actually hit a student because he froze up on the controls and would not give them too me. Ended up off the runway!!! THAT IS GOOD TIMES!!!! Puts hair on your flight instructor chest, and poop in your underwear!!!

Did that end up on your record as an incident? Makes for a great interview story.

I guess a incidental prop strike / nose gear collapse (without my interaction) is not cool enough for you guys.

It's more of an inside joke. I told the pilot (my friend) that I was working with together on our MEI's that I was going to put that wonder up on the internet if he didn't finish his II by the end of August. He lost.

Yeah . . . I learned alot that day . . . no damage to the airplane! I have a pretty high pucker factor, but I learned to always assume the student is about to kill you!
(I think I had about 30 hours instructing when that happend)

I actually feel asleep watching that vidoe :yup: Looks to me that you as an instructor did just what you had to do. That's a good thing, not a bad thing.

I thought I heard a "tink-tink" sound!

Sounds to me like the same squeaking that is going on during other parts of the approach, landing, and go-around.

As an aside, if this is your version of "trying to kill me"....man, you've had a pretty lucky career as an instructor!

Listen closely just as power was applied, there is a definite sound of a prop-strike, actually sounds very gravelly....if that's even a word.

Maybe you had to have been there to get it, but it didn't look that bad to me. I don't even see the need for a go around. Of course again perspective is key and a dash cam can really effect that.

Prop strike?? All i heard was what maybe sounded like a squeaky yoke. Yeah, just watched it again and notice the only time you hear it is when the pitch changes? Another disclaimer...i do have bad speakers so maybe it's not coming through. Still think the yoke is just squeaky though.
