I totally did not plan on watching this live but I just happened to wake up in the middle of the night which is fairly rare for me, and I got to watch it after all! Really cool view in the flare with the spotlights behind and the condensation coming back off the wings.
My dog woke me to go out at 4:45 so I stayed up to watch. Hard not to get a bit choked up after wheel stop and Ferguson's comments. I hope that within our lifetimes the United States once again launches manned vehicles to the stars... (who could say it better?) to boldly go where no one has gone before.
I had a 7am show this morning so I was able to actually catch it live on NASA TV (Yeah the hotel actually had a NASA TV channel). End of an ERA, can't believe it's all over
