Stop messing with certificates

Heinlein's works did not age well, nor did they stand the scrutiny of time or the rigor of critical science fiction standards that emerged.

There were some interesting themes, though, and you must judge his work against the backdrop of the era, and his audience.

But realistically, who am I to criticize any prolific, successful science fiction author?

I mean, you are a pilot… so go off 🤣

For some reason a lot of early, influential sci fi seems this way to me. I can appreciate it in the context of the time and for the ground it broke, but just doesn’t hold up.

This reminds me I did a • job of keeping up the book club thread I started for this year, guess I’ll try again starting in a couple days.

Keep it real with the books. They exercise parts of the brain digital doesn’t reach…

I believe in block chain and how it can revolutionize our world. I also appreciate @derg a whole lot. However, my experience with losing my medical was much more nightmarish.

I got the class one and stupidly misplaced the paper copy the same day. After 2-3 frantic days of searching for said original copy with signature. I threw in the towel and AME who issued my class one was like: “bruh I can’t issue a new one for 3 months.” Get F-Ed. Employer said your temporary is good for 60 days, retard.” 30 day overhang of no work.

Hit up my dad, an AME. He called OKC and helped straighten it all out. Got a new class 1.

Turns out not everyone has this privilege…. Anyway.

Would have been nice if I didn’t have to keep my original signed copy around. If it was just made valid for 6 months via blockchain. We good.

This is all much different than BTC. Don’t really want to discuss it with people full of hatred and vitriol.

But like fr fr yall want to look at this chart and tell me it’s going to zero?

Blockchain isn't a miracle technology. It has a crap ton of limitations just like with any other tech. It isn't special. It is just new and hyped up.

A 1963 Corvette is worth roughly 1 Bitcoin. You can touch and even use the Corvette. They don't make 1963 Corvettes anymore.Because they are a physical entity the supply will drop over time due to many possible reasons. Once they are gone they will be gone for good. Hence the reason for the value of the car being around $108k and increasing over time.

Bitcoin is a made up digital investment. It has a limited supply and that supply won't likely decline. You can't really use it for what it was designed to do.

Let me ask you. What makes Bitcoin such a great investment over a 1963 Corvette? Why should people put their money into Bitcoin?

All you have offered as evidence so far is a graph that resembles the .com bubble just before it crashed.

Bitcoin is only speculation. That is why you only hear catchphrase and flaccid excuses when people like me bring up the fact that there is nothing at the core of Bitcoin that gives value.

I’ve never brought up BTC on JetCareers. I brought up blockchain to manage documents like my Medical certificate. I’m advocating for decentralization. My one paper certificate that I’m forced to travel with and can not work without it. That’s the opposite of decentralization.

I do find it very odd you’ve brought up a 1963 Corvette to disparage BTC though. It’s even funnier that you don’t realize that BTC also has a deflationary supply.

Here’s the thing. I don’t care if you don’t get it. It’s fine. That’s not why I brought up blockchain on this thread. You did. And you can have all the temper tantrums you want to about it. I’m sure it will all age well.

Noting it is ~20 years since the last big change (paper to plastic) can we STOP with more changes to Certificates…

In the last 6 months we’ve had notice of CFI expiry removal. I decided to renew early due to the below.

Most other countries are still using paper certificates and actual written exams. Can we just hold on for a minute.

Just last week, I was talking about this. Tokenization of digital assets via blockchain technology. AVIATION?

TRANSFORM AVIATION WITH BLOCKCHAIN

Let me deflect to scripture for a second. I don't know the abovementioned poster's gender. Why is that important? I'll elaborate. Stay with me:

I am a man. Been one for awhile. I have a man's mindset. I was born with it. Man BEHAVIOR has been reinforced with friction to know when to positive project, neutral project, or project energy that will be received/perceived as a negative. That's my foundation. Still with me? Good.

Who am I? I am a man. No man or woman tells me what to do. Fact. Additionally, men and women actually try to tell me what to do. Based upon the value of the final outcome, success for others is minute. . .almost absolutely never. Close. . .closer with each attempt. <the oreo part - white>

Are you a woman or a man displaying passive aggressive mannerisms in order to adjust the style of my post? I would like to know. I know where I'm leaning, but I wish to validate my belief.

Loved the movie. It's a classic. Everyday life of the average American or forum posters? Forrest Gump? Sometimes there's a Twilight Zone theme to what's going on. Star Trek with Cpt Kirk. OH, more up to date? The Wil Wheaton/Ashley Judd episode. The Game. America. Tik Toc, Instagram, OnlyF*ns <yes, 80% of OF customers are married men. Figures>

What's NOT going on the blockchain? META is. Youtube?

Holy necropost. Don’t you will summon Captain Blockchain!

Video gif. A little blonde girl wearing a pink shirt is strapped into a car seat in the back seat of a car. She looks at us with a confused, somewhat disgusted expression. She clearly disapproves of something--disapproves a lot.

Even worse, I'm a science fiction author. And nobody baselessly hates authors (especially successful ones) more than authors. :p
I’m always looking for new authors to read, have you published? I used to voraciously consume science fiction, but…smartphones, life, adult onset attention span issues 😂 Lately I’ve been reading a lot of peer reviewed literature for my upcoming dissertation process, but I’d like to start reading for fun again.

Dystopian future.

Dirty, unkempt, but vaguely attractive protagonist fighting against the demonic overlord and his minions.

Scrappy bunch of intelligent people who somehow stay under the radar and develop a well organized resistance with zero actual organizational skills or experience

Various internal drama

Exploit a flaw in the system that is somehow hidden but at the same time completely, intuitively obvious.

More internal drama that threatens, briefly, to undo the whole plot.

Overthrow Overlord in personal mano y mano battle despite having no weapons, skills or actual demonic powers.

Win.

Boom, 6 books and a billion dollar film deal. Where do I cash the check?

As a matter of fact, yes.

The first two books:
Theta: Fox, Sasya: 9780989441407: Amazon.com: Books

The third and fourth books are in edting right now, although if you enjoy #1 and #2 I'd be happy to send them over.

If you do end up reading, I'd love your thoughts.

I’ll definitely read that! I’ll let you know my thoughts!
