Standard Rate Turns required?

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but a standard rate turn at 200Kts is pretty close to 30 degrees

The CFII PTS has steep turns in it. If a course needle is coming in for an inbound hold couse, or an ILS, I would use up to 30 degrees if I had to. It seems better than getting screwed up in an oscillation trying to intercept a course you flew through or the wind pushed you through.

Or ATC vectored you through.

I have been vectored through a final approach course into terrain. A simple ATC query fixes the problem. No need to make a difficult situation anymore difficult by banking excessively to fix someone else's mistake. Take the 5 minute delay and get a new vector onto the course.

In my freight days, it wasn't uncommon to be doing barber pole inbound and get a very tight vector - then you'd see some ridiculous bank turns as ATC sandwiched you between two other airplanes.

You got vectored into terrain? :) sorry, sometimes its to easy to be a pain

Words about the approach gate, edited. ;)
