I think @BobDDuck wrote about failing hydraulic accumulator caps a few years ago. @Blackhawk has been on the CRJ for a bit and may also have some insight.

I remember discussing this at the UND during our CRJ operations course- the "hey, fly a CRJ sim for 10 hours" course. And that it happened fairly recently when I was going through the course. This was Autumn '09, and I believe it happened at MSP or DTW.
