Spirit

It should be noted, you will receive a link to complete a long-form application prior (typically prior...to date - also read as always prior) to receiving any phone calls. So.....check your emails!

This is good info. The long form is similar to (read nearly a carbon copy of) airlineaps.com.

There is no way of updating a resume/application on their web site right now, that apparently is suppose to be fixed from what I've heard.

well guess i'll be going to the job fair then. It seems like they either will call you right away or won't. I've applied twice and crickets so far. Last time I didn't have 4k though.

Not necessarily. I've been trying to get on at Spirit for a while now and I've been keeping up-to-date with company and hiring news. Job fair attedance is pretty much a must these days. Some get calls right away and are in class a month later, some folks waited several months after several job fair visits. I don't think there is a set standard. I have one internal contact at Spirit, we were former co-workers and I keep in touch with him on regular basis on what is happening and he keeps signing the same song to me, to keep presistent! Persistence and internal recs seem to go a long way.

I'm definitely staying persistent, unfortunately though I don't know anyone there. Just stories of guys that got hired. I'm definitely going to the career fair in November this year. Thanks for the info though, its much appreciated.

^^^ Yes, this! ^^^

Anyone hear anything from these guys? Was told I would be put in the good pile in Vegas but never heard and didn't seem a whole lot of people are hearing anything.

The HR Department is still calling people from the Chicago job fair. They are asking people to be patient. The next job fair for Spirit is in November so there will be plenty of calls going out.

Thanks Areo Crew. I must say I absolutely hate paying to try to get a job but you guys do a good job and understand someone has to pay for the room, so on that note thank you for hosting them and for all the great info on the forums and the good seminars.

So they still have to go through the Vegas fair that was after that? I know a couple of people that got calls from the Vegas fair they both were high time with 747-400 type and/or A-320 ratings already.

Does anyone know of anything major dis qualifiers for Spirit? I was at the Chicago job fair and meet all the posted preferred requirements with the exception of the Airbus type rating and I was not told anything by the gentleman I spoke with. I don't think I said anything moronic when I was getting my face time, but I am starting to wonder just a bit.
