Meh...while I'm not happy about the relief that was provided without FIRST securing guarantees to follow, I am willing to see this play out. As it stands now, all the rhetoric about the MEC this, and the MEC that, are nothing more than unsubstantiated speculation and fear mongering. It's been an 'all hands on deck' situation down in OCC. People from all departments have been manning the phones to help regain control of the operation. Rumor has it several crew schedulers walked off the job last week...guess that's what happens when you work everyone to the bone and do not provide adequate resources to perform the intended job. Same goes with the endless outsourcing of jobs...difficult to provide a consistent product when they have zero investment in the product they're selling. But hey, what do I know, I'm not some MBA executive...
Management continues to say they're looking to secure a deal prior to the beginning of Section 6 negotiations. Well...now they have their opportunity to prove their appreciation/ sincerity, instead of providing nothing more than lip-service. So, if the upcoming pre-negotiation round (later this week, I believe) doesn't come with stellar results, I think some within the MEC will be gone. I'd say there's a very real possibility some within management will be gone as well before year's end due to their incredible mismanagement of the operation. They saved thousand to burn through millions when their little skimping project melted down. Epic Fail!!!
