Actually, when you do an apples to apples comparison; i.e. when you compare them to the other LCC's (Sun Country, Frontier, Virgin America, etc), you find that they are pretty much right in line with that industry.

So they are right in line with a 22 aircraft niche airline, an airline that is still in their bankruptcy contract, and an airline that will soon merge with a legacy under a newly negotiated contract?

As in, you believe that Spirit pilots are adequately paid when compared to their peers?

I'm saying they are right in line with the other carriers that have a similar business model. Fleet mix and aircraft size have nothing to do with it. It's all about who they are selling seats to, and for how much.

I offered no opinion on the subject. I merely stated that they are (more or less) paid the same as their peers. I define their peers as the companies that operate a similar business model to Spirit.

Tell me you aren't/don't want to be a 121 pilot. A contract has nothing to do with who they are selling seats to. It is about how much money the company is making and Spirit is making a ton of it and the pilots want their cut of the profits they are helping to make. And if you want to talk about peers, Southwest is more in line with Spirit than the three airlines you named.

I never said there was. I was simply correcting a factually incorrect statement. They are, in fact, being paid industry standard; their industry being the LCC/ULCC airline market.
