Sovereign Citizen Pilot

You’re going to make a lot of Floridians angry as they move, in great numbers, from Oklahoma back to West Palm! :)
I’m not sure it wouldn’t happen anyway; FL is the great Eastern crazy aggregator, it draws in the crazy, adding it to the gestalt, and spits out a new more potent crazy, greater that the sum of its parts…

AZ is the great Western crazy aggregator, but you already know that.

Utah doesn’t get a free pass here

I figure if he was advocating the Indigenous to take back their land, there’s going to be a lot of people sitting at the country clubs along Florida’s Gold Coast wondering why they’re getting eviction notices and calls from attorneys from the 405 area code. :)

Never has a more accurate statement been written on the Internet. Bravo, sir.

We should take a square state no one wants to live in, like Arizona where it’s too hot to survive without AC, remove all forms of government and government services and then move all these people there.

Then whenever we confiscate guns or drugs from a crime we box it all up together, palletize it and then we air drop it in the middle of the state hunger games style. Televise the whole thing on pay per view and use the income stream to balance the nation’s budget.

So what is the story with 2A and foreign nationals? I think I remember that they were determined to be at least partly covered, but I'd suppose that would be the category a "sovereign citizen" would fall under if that were a real thing (which it isn't).

I see you guys saw the story about me.

But seriously, I met this dude around 2019 or so? He bought Sound Aviation from a guy I used to know (and who helped me out as a fledgling aviator). Sound was briefly a competitor of a place I used to work.

He didn't appear to have brain worms then? He certainly does now though - rumors of flat earther stuff too, but I'm uncertain. I will say that the absolute funniest thing I've read about this is when he said, "that's not me" because his name was written in capital letters in the court paperwork. While I appreciate having the utter balls to de-register the airplane, paint over your N Number with the Sovereign Citizen flag, and stop getting a medical while still operating an air taxi I cannot say that that was a smart, prudent, or even reasonable move at all. He would have totally gotten away with it had he just kept a low profile - there are quite a few people doing that sort of thing up here, it's not uncommon; the kind of person who frantically says "you CAN'T PULL ME OVER I'M TRAVELING" is not (perhaps) exercising the best judgment. Homeboy is so close to getting it, "yo, state power flows from the barrel of a gun and everything from an eviction notice to the building codes ultimately carries the threat of violence for non-compliance" but instead of following that thread to it's logical conclusion he chose the track of "well, there's this one legal trick that the FAA and judges don't want you to know!"

Regardless, I don't think people realize how utterly different it is up here compared to down south. To be honest, more and more I really dislike it down there, in large part because of the "vibe." Everything is so "serious" and the stakes are always jacked up to 99. Everything is DOOOOM or extreme to some extent and the real threats, real risks of doom are either politicized or ignored. Does nobody else realize how funny this story is? How the • could a reporter write this with such a sober-serious take? This story is absolutely hilarious to me and I feel like people seem to be so bent out of shape serious about things that they miss just how absolutely laughable it is. Also, while the SovCit people are silly, this is also a delightful piece of Alaskana on par with a Stubbs the Cat and other things. Different sorts of characters up here - that's why I like it, I can be me here and nobody will bother me. Some people (like this character) perhaps have taken things a little too far. I never felt safe to be myself down south.

I wonder if he uses “Sovereign Citizen” fuel, free of government regulation or rules? Hand-crafted, small batch, artisanal!

It’s hilarious how those types of people still expect to drive on public roads, have access to 911 emergency services, etc.
There’s a movement up here that pops up every once in a while to secede, and nationalize oil to replace all the sweet federal cheese that keeps this state functioning, because those socialists in DC are turning us into Venezuela.

I recently started watching Northern Exposure since I remember my dad watching it when I was a kid. This seems like a hilarious storyline they’d have for a side character.
Also some surprisingly relevant commentary for a show that came out 30+ years ago.

I just started watching it too. It's actually based on Haines from what I have heard.

Season 1 is fantastic, there can be some odd episodes later on but overall I really like it so far. Occasionally my wife will be like "yup... that's pretty accurate"

I love watching people on COPS get yoinked out of their cars and tazed because they think the Sovreign Citizen think will work during a traffic stop.
