Southwest Suspending hiring through 2024....

Pretty sure 1300 is more than any year prior to COVID, or at least close to the record, for AA. The horror!
Yeah definitely still surpassing mandatory retirements, that’s for sure. This “slowing” for the big 3 is still a crazy amount of hiring.

Reading about FOs at regionals with 1k turbine SIC getting hired at UAL and other majors is mind blowing to me.

At one time, don’t know if it has changed but I can still remember it, UALs only requirement was 300TT. Not that that was anywhere remotely competitive at the time obviously, but the number still existed.

But yeah. Surely different times now. Though, we will see when the cycle reverses, what happens.

Yeah, that’s fair enough, this is all certainly cyclical. AA has quite a few pilots that were hired at 23 years old back in the 80s. Now they are lobbying for age 67 and bitching about how easy the new guys have it

A new hire today seniority progression. Granted not super up to date but pretty good info nonetheless.

The hiring of the past 2 years bananas and if you got in, great. You’ll see some huge dividends your final 10 years. If you didn’t, no panic. You’ll still see very good progression over your career by any of the big 3 (or 4).

We just hit 17.2k on our list at DL. Crazy what has happened in my 4 years and I’ll never be able to complain based on what happened post Covid being really a once in a lifetime style seniority growth everyone saw over the past 2-3 years.

This. Last year was ridiculous for a number of reasons and this year is A LOT better, but we'll save that for Zoom Happy Hour because I don't want to get quoted.

Let me know when this one will be. Gotta figure out why they Dont Always Love my resume back ;(

Did you see ours? 30 this year SMH, on a list of 3,465!!!

More importantly, did you see the number of age 65 versus early out?

“I’m gonna retire early!”

MY ASS! NO YOU ARE NOT

I don’t trust a single pilot who says they are punching out early. Show me that resig letter while walking into the CP office and slapping it down. Until then, stuff it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, no one is walking away from 500k a year to work 10-11 days a month if they can still hold a medical.
