But that would require they remain onboard and not skedaddle as soon as possible. +1 if they are in an Airbus and forget to actually push in the ground power button so that after the APU spins down far enough the plane goes dark with 100 people still onboard.
I don’t want to sound flippant, but there’s at least one or two of these a month on the Widgetverse social media. Usually it’s “TURN ON THE DAMNED APU, MORON!”
Just wait until summer when the rocket surgeons “pre cool” the cabin into certain locations so you freeeze your ass off during the arrival, pull into the gate and turn the APU off when they get ground power and are on their way to the van before first class completes deplaning, meanwhile the cabin roasts for the next 25 minutes.

Oh my favorite is when you hear the bus crew completely kill the aircraft, including the APU, see the lights dim before the ground service power comes on and you’re sitting there roasting at the gate with no air.

Yet they would be the first to tell you the company is mean to passengers because they won't let Captains decide to hold a flight for twenty minutes to wait on one passenger on a Basic Economy ticket.

yup...what we can do is minuscule in comparison...I'm glad we flew at .81 on that trans con to save 6 minutes...when we have to sit for 35 minutes waiting for a gate..
