Southwest Hiring

Repost from 2014 on a SWA thread where things got unnecessarily heated:

Btw Lettthatsinkin and Taxiback I gave you actual info. 2nd interviews are happening tomorrow, Tuesday, and Wednesday. How do I know this, bc I got the email asking me to pick a day.

No one said that internals were not interviewing this week. Just confirming that internals are not the only ones interviewing, externals are also. On the very same days you mention. Your info was right about your own situation, but what you concluded about externals was not correct.

Oh no....et tu Brute...Am I to follow my own advice??? I was there numb-nut. I am happy to share facts and data for those who really want to know at least something of value.

Im no jerk when I expose a liar. That's the sad problem, there is just too much crap and hearsay regarding jobs and interviewing from people who know nothing at all.
And for some reason they feel the need to "inform" others of/from their lack of knowledge. Im tying to say, "stop misleading people who are in need of real information."
There's too much second and third hand nonsense.

I was there. Lots and lots of externals!!! So Flygirl , if you want more info from a jerk who was there and is willing to share that info, feel free to PM me.

And Luigi, just stop. You come across like a an elementary school hall monitor instead of the wise guy you wanna be.

Tone it down there

If you can't make your point without personal attacks and namecalling, then step away from the keyboard until you can.

Yeah it is. I applied for the FLIFO agent back in April. Still says 'under review' Never got a TBNT ,but believe me I'm still holding out hope that they'll call about it.

It has been my experience that if it takes 2-3 months or 5-6. WN will send you a TBNT email eventually or they will contact you long after you applied....they'll contact you in some form or fashion.

Believe me....I'm the TBNT king right now

HAH! I... don't think that's a title we should be fighting for (or sharing!)

Do you know if its just internals or both? Good Luck!
@flygirl 05 if this helps.... I'm an external and tested last week. Was offered two sessions each on Wed or Thurs.
There were 15 testing in my group....12 externals and 3 internals.
Invited to interview next week Monday, Tues, Wed or Thursday Aug 10th-13th.

Previous time I tested and interviewed, I wasn't contacted to interview a few weeks after a co-worker of mine.
So nothing hard and fast I've found.

Hopefully it works out for you this time.[/QUOTE]

TY! Fingers and toes crossed to everyone applying for these current openings at so many companies !
Feeling blessed for so many opportunites opening up.
Largest movement I've seen since 1997 when the FAA required 121 dispatchers for sched ops for 10-30 seats
and all turbojets regardless of seating capacity.

Agreed - This is definitely the time to get in. I got my ticket last year, interviewed a few places shortly after but received TBNT's. Been sitting at my 135 desk patiently waiting for the next opportunity...

Agreed @Burrito the TBNT's can be discouraging. I'd love to see you replace TBNT with "KUDOS"! as you are doing amazing. I didn't break into the airline (at a small commuter doing crew payroll and planning) until 3 full years after I got my ticket. Not only was I not around the business for 3 years, I wasn't keeping my newly acquired skills and knowledge sharpened. During that time NWS changed the way they wrote wx . But 1 year after that I was blessed to hire on with a small regional when the FAA had their shop (all pax sched ops) go from 135 to 121. No doubt with your quote about "hunger" I'll be seeing you dispatching 121 soon. :)

Hey, thanks; I appreciate the kind words. I learned it here, and it's often repeated -- the first job's the hardest. But you get it eventually.

I agree, the fact a living, breathing human calling me was nice.. although I got very excited thinking I had the job. There is ,hopefully, a next time..

I actually just got my phonecall.. it wasnt good news. Good luck to everyone else!
Oh man I'm soooo sorry to hear.
I interviewed back in April and was so disappointed when they called me.
Yet the experience back in April was an excellent learning tool for this time around as well as with
other dispatch jobs I applied for since. Hopefully a January SWA class will be approved :)

got my TBNT.....yet Congrats to all who made the class! How exciting! And good luck to all who apply for any future classes!
