Southwest Airlines IOE Complete!!!

Say hi to Tom Evans at the training center. He was the PC12 program manager for FlightSafety Dallas for many years and a great guy, now at SWA. Also, ask him if he has my resume.

He left FSI? Man, that dude has been around the PC12 since the beginning.

I will! Tom was part of my class and study group for systems! Great guy and hire for SWA.

Oh, they were always quite friendly whenever I was in Dallas. They're just sliding the knife in your back as they smile to your face. May they rest in hell.

But hey, congrats. It wasn't for me, but gotta be a huge improvement over the 135 grind.

Why do I have a feeling that most of your anger is due to the SLI. And ATL cutback/reduction? You may have had a short term commute, but at least SWA didn't outright close the ATL base. Not looking forward to our SLI in October. I sense some real hurt feelings coming up...

After 11 years of Part 135 charter, I'M OUT. Class started on June 5th and IOE finished this week. I'm extremely thankful to be part of this company and pilot group. SWA's new training facility in Dallas is legit and they truly make you feel like part of the family the moment you are on property. Happy to be on the 121 side of the house.

Congrats! Nice pic :)

My dislike of Southwest goes back many years before the SLI. Check out old debates on Flightinfo. But the SLI certainly made it go from dislike to intense seething hatred.

Had I stayed, I would currently be the 2nd to last copilot in Atlanta, sitting reserve indefinitely. It would have taken me roughly 2.5 years of commuting before I’d have gotten back to Atlanta. And reserve at Southwest sucks, unlike the joy it was at AirTran where I bid it as a senior FO. Trust me, I have no regrets.
That’s how you know it’s fair.

Only if both sides have similarly hurt feelings.

No, that’s not current. If I were in ATL I’d be number 233 out of 285 and you were way senior to me. Bidding 82% I would have had a line. I can look tomorrow and see how many reserves they carry in ATL.

Agree with your assessment of reserve though.

Granted, my information is months old. But still no regrets. :)
