Southwest 737 w/ wingtips

Obviously he's talking about Austin Straubel International Airport in scenic Green Bay.

If they were really going for cost savings and efficency they would install airstairs on both doors and invest in a whole bunch of unbrellas in case it rains.

Actually, JetBlue sorta does this here. They off-load the front half of the plane through the jetway, and the unlucky souls in the back have to walk out in the Florida heat down the airstairs, across the ramp, and back up the emergency exit stairs into the terminal.

I wouldn't call it unlucky - you get to get out of the plane without waiting for all the dufuses in front of you to drop their luggage, get up, look around for a lost bag, grab a kid, etc.

As the un-official minister of slang, I declare that the plural form of dufus be dufii.

As the unofficial FT grammar czar and latin scholar, I proclaim that it's dufi and pronounced doo-fie.

I would go with DUF-EYE. If the plural or Airbus is Airbii (pronounced Air-BEYE) then I think in the spirit of aviation we should stick to the "eye" sound. So does that make a ramp SWA ramp full of Boeii? If it was the other way around you would have a bunch of knives on airplanes and the TSA would hate that (bowie... get it?) Alright. I'll stop now.

hmmmm...yeah, Bob, you're right...it is fie. I fixed it. But why the extra i in "airbii" wouldn't that be air-bu-eye or airb- eye-eye? I'm sitting on my airbum* trying to figure that one out.

I say unlucky b/c the guys in the front got the a/c, and the poor sobs in the back got to walk in the blanket of oppressive humidity yesterday. Although the other day I did see an old lady light up a cigarette right next to the engine.....
