Yeah....... I'm happy for the people that got hired, and I know a few of them. Let's just say that Pinnacle was very dissapointed with UND.

Do you know why? GPS Moving Map Users??? :D That's what Tina Anderson said makes the airline interviewers annoyed.

In our (and I mean UND instructors) defense partly the reason they may have been disappointed is that they gave us about a week and a half notice on 1. They had positions available; 2. They were coming to UND IN A WEEK AND A HALF. That and the fact their minimums were so low a lot of people thought - "what the hell" and went for it. Pinnacle also initially said they "preferred" the ATP written be completed and finished by ground school date if hired - then changed their mind about it 4 days before they came and required it - then ripped into the applicants who applied, got interviews but didn't have their ATP written documentation with them. If they want a successful interview process they should 1. give PLENTY of notice (at least 3 weeks to a month) before they come; 2. Be clear in their expectations and stick with them; 3. require a little more than 500 hours and multiengine rating! Even 600/100 would be much better! When airlines come here with low expectations for hours then applicants feel they have low expectations for everything else and figure they're a shoe in. That being said - I think you're right eglpilot by saying the did them a favor by not hiring them... too many questionable things about them right now (and horrible pay!)

I just heard that the Chief pilot said they were very disappointed with UND. I know there were quite a few people that applied with barely 500 hrs. Personally, 500 TT & ME rating is ridiculous. Nothing against the people who applied, but I think you don't know squat with 500 hrs.

Unfortuately, this is what it has come to for Pinnacle. These are the type of candidates they attract these days. People with the experience they want are getting hired at better regionals! Pinnacle has brought this problem on themselves, they have no right getting upset because these people are applying.

Could you just imagine working for a company like this? They can't even set rigid guidelines for what they require in an interview, what is the rest of the company like? Pinnacle has become the bottom of the regional stack, even the Mesa guys laugh at them!

Lucas hey.. I saw your name on the SAMA meeting list of speakers this MArch, hope to see ya there. anyways diddnt you apply?? and nope dont know anyone hired.

I interviewed with Pinnacle when they came up here last week. Everyone that was there seemed to be instructing here or outside UND somewhere. I think I am the only one that is still and school here and didn’t have a flight instructing job. As soon as I saw the posting for the interviews I started studying for the ATP written that night. The written was not originally posted with the UND posting but it has always been a requirement for pinnacle as indicated by their website. I took the written the day before the paperwork was due just to get it in. What I saw is that they hired anyone who came prepared and did well with the interview process was hired. I was offered a job on the spot during the exit interview. Pinnacle may or may not be around for much longer, but a year ago it was the place to be and may be so in the future. Either way, I am not going to complain if I am offered a job to fly a jet with 500 hours.
