So you want a job at Delta

You can land in DTW, see half the C concourse empty, and they'll tell you they don't have a gate for you. It's not just ATL. We sat over in the de-ice pad off Q for 30 minutes one day listening to them switch gates and help out planes that landed AFTER us. I'm tired of doing everyone's job, so I let it happen. We were 15 minutes early, so no pax had connection issues, so I was happy to sit there and get closer to 30/7 while they tried to figure it out. 'Course this was happening long before Delta and NWA merged, too.

Holy crap, the other day we waited 15min for a gate at DTW. I actually saw 4 open gates. As a CMR guy about being not selected for DL hiring, I am not the norm. We have had several guys hired at DL who were around during the strike/DL furlough situation. Our MEC at the time got it wrong. Our new MEC leaders are trying to bridge the gap with DL MEC. I personally had nothing to do with that whole situation. But if I ever get the chance to interview with DL I hope they won't hold that against me. Yes we have some serious D-bags at CMR, but so does every airline. I call it the 5% factor. I want to move on to a major sometime this decade along with 90% of you. Everyone need to chill out and see what happens.

I whole-heartedly 2nd that statement Soul Brotha!

As far as the guy that might have blocked the ramp-im sorry if that is what happened.
But I also have another "possible" view- for example-last month i did some of the NW Airlink flying in and out of MSP. I nor the CA had flown alot to MSP-and even those times were to the DL gates (years ago). We probably did take a few moments more than everyone else around us because we were making sure that everything is where is it should be going because of the "new locations" for us. NONE of it was intentional blocking, and of course there is the whole thing about wingwalkers-our books can have different situations regarding how many are needed-so its just another idea or something to consider.

On a side note- i say hello,be friendly, & chit-chat with the Mesaba/PNCL/ & Ramp people. They are nice from most of my encounters.

That reminds me of a funny story of an ASA guy who thought the Comair Ramp Tower guys at Concourse C in CVG had it out for ASA guys...

On the RIDS boards they used to display the number of passengers, for example it would show up as P46 (46 passengers). If the passenger count was unknown, it would show up as "P unk". Well, there was an ASA plane sitting at the gate and their board was flashing "Punk". The pilot complained and was whining because apparently the Ramp guys kept calling him and flashing PUNK at him.

HAHA :D I got a good laugh out of it...

LOL. That is funny!

Another year we'll be out of your way for A25 and A33.

Ain't that the truth. Seriously PNCL and CMR guys, just wait a year and all those gates in DTW, MSP, and MEM will be yours. Patience. It takes a few years to get rid of Saabs.

Rumor is we're gonna be doing some ATL -200 flying here soon, too. Don't worry, Marcus. Pretty sure ASA is still gonna have thier guaranteed percentage. :)

:rotfl:What's funny is that I always wondered what that meant. Just never cared enough to ask. :rotfl:
