...when 11/19/07 is when you have your Thanksgiving meal! :)

And since you couldn't hold Xmas off (almost!) you at least bid a cool 48 hour layover somewhere...
 
We already had ours yesterday!!! I win:D

He's off to Manchester right now. then does a bunch of flying all week, and won't get back until next monday.

Since it's just Kristie and I, plus she's going lord knows where later on this week, we're going to roast a turkey breast.

It's in the fridge in a nice brine as we speak! Roast that puppy up after my six-month visit to Dr. Forred!
 
Just pull up my schedule for this month and next, Dough. That's how a junior pilot's schedule should look!

No complaining allowed. When I was in the AF we often had Christmas in Feb or Mar!!!!

I thought maybe that since you were now flying international and since Thanksgiving is an American holiday that your schedule might not be so crazy. You must be busy flying all the expats home!

Actually, though, one of the best Thanksgivings I've ever had was at the Sheraton in Warsaw, Poland.

For me, this year my wedding anniversary falls on this Thursday, prompting many of my engineer friends to ask me "Why did you get guys get married on Thanksgiving?" I respond back to them, "Come on, you guys are smarter than that!"

We did ours yesterday, amazingly enough with my family up in northern Michigan! Christmas, on the other hand, will most likely be spent in the crashpad.
 
I remember years ago when I was on reserve. I had small kids then and Christmas was approaching. Not knowing when I would be called, we held out hope that I would not get called to fly over Christmas ( I know I was naive). Phone rings night of Dec 23rd with a nice lady in scheduling who wants me to fly to London. I had to leave within a few hours so we gathered all the kids up and said "Merry Christmas, Santa came early this year." We opened presents right then and there and I know the kids were thinking we were nuts. Little did they know their life would be full of such things as their dad had chosen to be a big time airline pilot.


This year Thanksgiving is on the 25th, not the 22nd. Haven't got December schedule yet but suspect I may be scheduled to work over Xmas. I am not too worried about it because I have it on good authority that I may be a little under the weather starting around the 23rd, and lasting perhaps through the 27th. I ask all my JC friends here not to worry too much about me as I will stay by the fireplace, drink my medicine and try to make the best of it. I was going to ask Dr Forred if he could prescribe something, but I just decided I would let that nasty bug run it's course. Cough, cough, cough........
 
Heh, you have to love CAL's "PBS". Seniority? huh? whats that?

Dad got his "week 52" vacation from his FO seniority, before he put in for upgrade, knowing full well that he would keep it after he upgraded ensuring Christmas off while being one of the last lineholders in the base.

32 years and counting working for an airline and never working on Christmas.
 
You know you're a corporate pilot when you're off on Thanksgiving day and enjoying a nice Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends followed by a nice long weekend off.

(execs don't want to be away from home for the holidays either) :)

Holy crap! I just got my December bid back and I managed to hold the third line I bid. I've got Monday-Wednesday off all month (which I bid because I've got a mid week ski pass), R2 call time (7:00 a.m.) and Christmas off. I should actually be released on Christmas eve in time to make my commute back to Salt Lake.
