Once I shaved off the stash. My beautiful bride told me I had a twichy upper lip and would not kiss me till I grew it back. That was about 29 years ago.

I learned a lot. I was too young to really understand when my old man went on strike with UA in the 80s. The way the folks here at JC came together is pretty impressive as well. Again, the power of this website shines through. :beer:

This is interesting. Airtran is a little bigger than Spirit (I am sure.. but not sure HOW much bigger they are). The question arises: Will the White House allow Airtran to strike if necessary? What about the next airline in line that is a bit bigger? What about when DAL gets to Section 6 in 2012 (probably to the boiling point in 2015) Will THEY be allowed to strike? Just food for thought....

Interesting, after a successful Spirit strike I'd like to think they're management will learn from the Spirit managements' mistakes but theres no guaranteeing that. I don't want to dig to much into politics but the current administration is definitely more pro-union than the previous one. The Spirit strike only affected 1% of air traffic nationwide (though it sucks if your that 1% of travelers), so I don't see WH getting involved with Airtran's labor issues, an an airline of about the same size. Especially with such larger issues on the table as of late like the Gulf Oil Spill, Iran, Arizona Immigration reform etc. etc. This is one issue I would like to see stay on the back burner in politics. ;)

We're quite a bit bigger (138 airplanes), but still not a huge carrier like the legacies.

No, it was not you--I've been posting regarding the strike. I've also been posting answers to issues related to HR and labor about which I might have some information to offer. I'm really a regular on Jetgirls as I'm not a pilot--just married to one. However, the Beemer story is true.

I dunno... When the AFL-CIO starts booking their "corporate" travel on AFL-CIO member airlines, I'll start worrying about what ALPA pilots drive.
