SkyWest starts flying for Alaska Airlines

I could go many directions with this. But I'll just leave at this...

This kind of thought process is part of the reason why our industry is where its at today. This is a brotherhood like it or not, if we can't see the big picture and work with another to improve things across the industry then we are sunk.

Nick- I wouldn't waste your time with him. He's brainwashed so deeply that he'll never come out of it.

I did one leg in DEN on day 1 last week. There are a lot of expressjet planes in DEN and in ORD. I've noticed a lot less complaints by their pilots these days. With the exception of JTrain, - he's never gonna stop complaining, even when he's in the left seat of a widebody. :) John, you know you have a secret Turban in your closet you want to throw on. C'mon man, the gig is up. We all know living in Michigan has brain washed you into Stockholm Syndrome.

One List.

:)

Almost every post you make towards our company has some negative spin on it. Like I've stated numerous times, you don't see our guys bad mouthing your company so how about we call an end to this? Regardless about who's total compensation package is better, we're all arguing over peanuts.

I'm cool with that. My intent wasn't to slam on Skywest. My intent was to say that the things you guys have shouldn't be considered elite items but something EVERYONE from Great Lakes and Gulfstream to Southwest and FedEx should have. We didn't have them before, and it sucks mightily. Having them does make a huge difference.

If skywest hadn't purchased asa they most likely would be like comair and xjt would be in ch11 best case scenario.

Based on what? Comair is getting the shaft because they have high costs. ASA's cost are pretty much more in line with Mesaba than Comair. ExpressJet had secured a new ASA with Continental and United flying before Skywest even came along. To say they'd be in Ch 11 is a pretty big leap.

Before skywest purchased asa they were in ruins. Dal managment had made that airline as inefficient as comair. Without a doubt asa would have been gutted by some degree instead of being grown and allowed to prosper like it currently is.

As far as expressjet goes, it was said by the outgoing ceo that expressjet was unprofitable with cpa it signed with cal 2 years ago. The only chance it had was the so-called operation greenlight that was more or less a drop in the bucket. Expressjet is still marginal with the erj lease rates from cal thus why there will be an attempt to refleet.

Drat! Busted!

In reality any sort of one list business isn't gonna change that to make any sort of difference in the short term. I'm beginning to resign myself to being a commuter for the duration, sucks but it is what it is. It does give me heartburn to see those XJT tails in DEN, but I hold no ill-will to my homeys on the other side.

Don't worry about den, expressjet was going to peak between 50-60 flights this summer but two things changed the game. The arbitration and the 8 700s for 6 200s on the dal side. Those planes are going to den with uax as the 700s come online. The arbitration kept more 700s in den than was planned. Don't worry about asa pushing you out of den.

However if worrying about being able to hold den is a big deal. Then you need to think about it this way. Look at the standing bid to get into den now and then triple it. It will be much harder since the amount of positions will remain the same but the demand for them will increase.

I would also like to say the kellwolf needs to stop with personal attacks on those that dont share his views on alpa. It's not just him, but he is the loudest and trys to make it the most personal. That kind of thuggery is why the last alpa drive failed. It is also why support for alpa at skywest is at an all time low.

Btw this is my last post on this subject and maybe even this forum. If I want to be told how wrong I am about everthing, ill talk to my wifes mother.

See ya!

Kell is probably one of the sweetest folks around this place, so thuggery and him do not quite fit.

But hey - you're leaving right? So it doesn't really matter.

(woe is me I'm taking my ball and leaving JC thread continuation to follow...)

Oh...wait a bit...supposedly someone here had a family member, or had a friend of a family member who died in Jonestown...they don't like these types of jokes...we'll see...we don't see him 'round much lately.

Sorry. I still have a doubt. They're still cheaper in operating costs than Comair before Skywest bought them. Newsflash: ALL DCI carriers are inefficient when it comes to schedules, even Pinnacle and Mesaba. So, that being equal, what's the difference.....operating costs.

Wait.....they're so unprofitable they were gonna go CH 11, but they would be able to afford to REFLEET?!?! Do you even listen to yourself?

....more nonsense....

While there may be some thuggery in ALPA, Kellwolf is about as far from that as possible. Kellwolf is about as nice as they come.

You are probably confused by the number of attacks from all corners. That chip on your shoulder makes it tough to see in the peripheral, and when you've got two... jeesh, I feel for you kid. Ignore Kellwolf, just concentrate on looking forward, and taking the hits as they come.

I musta missed this one, but thanks to the other guys that followed up so I caught it. Where have I personally attacked you? Where have I even MENTIONED ALPA? What's my #1 choice for a future employer? jetBlue. Are they ALPA? Currently, no. Some airlines need a union because management treats their employees like ranched cattle. Some treat their employees like partners and a union isn't a necessary evil. Where have I been a "thug" rather than just countering your arguments? If you don't have a valid answer, that doesn't make the other person a thug. It just means they may be better informed on the situation or have a different opinon.

Pot, meet kettle. Here's your ball, feel free to take it and go home. Don't let the door hit ya, etc, etc. You're not the first and you won't be the last to storm off in a huff because someone doesn't agree with you.....

Can't believe surreal used the word "sweet" to describe me. Just for that, I'm gonna have to go all Atlanta, do a drive by on his house or something. THAT would be thuggish. :)
