Skywest or Eagle

So I finally heard back for an interview from Skywest, 7 months after starting with Eagle. I commute out of Phoenix and like the potential of west coast bases. Plus, I'm pretty sure any fleet plan we get at Eagle is gonna be for less planes than we have now.

I have friends who bailed on Eagle with three years if seniority and they are happy with the decision. Any advice you guys can offer?

That is a good problem to have! Now if only the Legacy carriers would start calling.........

I would at least go to the interview if you can make time for it.

Movement has been slow here, just like everywhere else, but hopefully that will change. My personal opinion is that it WILL pick up substantially over the next few years.

As for the PHX base, it currently looks like the most junior F/O has about two years senority.

Thanks for the info. Two years isn't bad I guess.

One factor I'm considering is that people at Eagle are more likely to leave sooner because of the job dissatisfaction. I would guess people at Skywest might be more willing to stick it out and not bail for lateral moves.

If I had to choose right now, I'd go SkyWest. Not because of bases, or airplanes, pay or other transient things. Overall, Skywest seems to be a better managed company, that is in a good position to survive and thrive.

The number of Archer Top Gun avatars is...disturbing.

Over the past 3, 5, 10 years years guys have bailed eagle for Skywest. I'm sure eagle is fine but since youre out of Phoenix and want to stay west I would make the jump. You can hang out on the rj in phx and sooner than later you'll be able to be left seat on the bro somewhere in Cali. Good luck!

Don't worry about reserve time It can change at the drop of a hat.
When I was hired there we all got lines before we finished training. Guys hired 5-6 months after us were on reserve for years. It can and will go back to that, especially with the e-190s.
