Skymates?? Should I??

Oddly enough, things were pretty quiet when we went to see Saw II. We're heading over there tomorrow to see The Fog and probably Jarhead next week.

I need to swing by The Landing restaurant again and see if the lunch buffet is going yet. They dropped off some flyers at Skymates last week and told us about the free beer. And yeah, Bob did clue us in to the free beer at Hooters. We just thought it was too good to be true. :)

Let me know when the lunch buffet starts up. I might be in y'alls neck of the woods next week sometime.

Skymates is great... I've been here since June, working on the prof pilot program.... I have my CFII checkride at the FSDO on Wed. If I had to do it over again, Skymates all the way.

We have a new CFI instructor, and she is excellent... very professional, knows her stuff, etc. PM me with any specific questions.

I must say though, that the owner of the housing threw out my potatoes! Public Service Announcement to texans...

So what is the deal with housing at Skymates? Is housing in apts. with two people to an apt? Is housing free?
Or is housing similar to Big Brother or MTV's Real World. Where everyone lives under one roof together. For example:

"What happens when seven strangers are picked to live together in a house. What happens when people stop being nice and start getting real?
Real World...Arlington?"

:D

It's in a house or houses, depends on how busy we are. Right now, we're all living under one roof. Depending on who all is living here, it can get like the Real World. Seeing as currently we have 3 JCers in the house, it normally turns into "Hey, let's go to Caves tonight and get plastered. I don't have to fly until 10 AM!"

And it's FAR from free. The houses are owned by someone that doesn't work for Skymates, and he's pretty wrapped up in the whole money thing. Ask him about any of his 3,000 business ventures and you get the same response in a thick Texas accent: "I'm not makin' any muney."

And sadly, I haven't been home to MS lately. Hell, I'm lucky to make it back to the crashpad some days. Thanksgiving is already shot (booked solid already), so I had to block out Xmas about a month and a half in advance just in case I can get away and go home. There were only three days last month I didn't fly, and so far, this month is looking about the same. At least I'm putting up some Lloyd Williams-esque hours right now. :)

Sorry to hear you havent made it home lately 8(. I know how hard it can be with a new one at home as well. At least you have cell phones now adays. You need to start that long X-C to MS for a home cool meal for you and the pilot!

Glad to hear you are pulling some good hours, just makes me want to get down there before you get the hours and leave.

I wouldn't say she's hot, per se, but more like "easy on the eyes"
South African accent too, so that get at least a point.
Best part? Leaps and bounds, in all respects, better than the last CP.
Really, really sweet, good instructor, pretty to look at, and nice to listen to.

How would you rate skymates against Panam

We're cheaper and we offer the same FAA ratings. That's maybe an oversimplification, but what the heck. It's all about hours. Nothing else.

PS...and you're a CUSTOMER here.

PPS .... and your instructor won't get snickered at for impersonating an airline captain. (of course panam isn't the only place that inflicts such humiliation upon their instructors)
