Re: Skydivers\' plane crash kills 1, hurts 5
An update on this crash...
I know the pilot...he was the "office manager" for the flight school where I was working and is a nice guy. Numerous people I have talked to said the a/c was at full power on takeoff. This is all I'll say for now until some of these rumors about what happened surface in an investigation.
The thing that pisses me off is the pilot was unconscious for a while and all he remembers is he was the pilot and they had an accident. He does not know the extent of the accident and the people around him still have not told him that somebody died in the crash. He still thinks everybody made it out of the accident okay.
The question is, would you rather know that somebody died and go through the grief, or have people "protect" you and not tell you that somebody died? I fully feel that this is absolutely the wrong thing to do to him but will not get into a debate with these people over the moral and ethical questions because they are all very strongly against telling him. Once they finally do tell him, he's going to be pretty messed up for quite a while, I would assume. He was friends with the gentleman killed in the crash, and will eventually figure out that he's not around any more.
There were 2 tandem jumps going up and already have lawsuits started. How would you like to be brought into a lawsuit not knowing the full extent of what happened?
Just curious on everybody's opinion...
