It was something Ian suggested a couple years ago. For a good period, alot of us were doing it. I dunno why it stopped or started. At the time, it seemed the conclusion was mixed, but alot of folks had started doing it. I am thinking I will stop as I like to go with the flow as much as possible. I was just curious on what others thought about it now.
Well even though the poll results are mixed, I have elected to reduce my signature. As others mentioned, if you know me, you know what I do![]()
A person's opinions should stand or fall on the accuracy and facts, not on what airplane they strap themselves into or how many hours they have spent at cruise doing SUDUKO.
Bring it back.
I originally made my sig a few years ago during the fad. I thought it was a good idea then and a good idea now. I was tired of mentioning my background to people over and over during discussions. Plus I'm not witty enough to put anything creative in my sig line.
The person asking the questions is asking because he does not know the facts. so he may not know if it's an accurate reply. A student pilot asking a question about airline flying would probably prefer to hear from an airline pilot
Moral is - don't believe everything you read on the interwebs. I assume that everyone is a ms flightsim wannabe troll until they prove otherwise. It is pretty easy to tell who is full of it. I don't see a lot of bad information floating around here anyway.
Respectfully, I don't think so. There are very knowledgeable folks here that answer questions and are not airline pilots. And the airline folks are going to be knowledgeable about their equipment, 121, and their company. Most of the questions here are not airline related anyway, and I think the broader GA perspective is a big part of the value of this site.

Actually, I think the opposite is true. How are we supposed to discuss rest rules with a guy that has "A320" in their username when they're actually a bus driver? Am I supposed to asume they're a Redtail pilot? How would I know that he drives a bus other than having met him before?

Further, I'd say the great majority of questions here have to do with how folks get to jobs flying jet aircraft. This is JETcareers.com, after all, not studentpilot.com or flightinfo.com.

Better question...if you do can you get me a job as a breakman??jtrain609 do you work for Norfolk Southern Or BNSF?
OMG, the site isn't catered to you!!! ZOMG. I know, lets just proclaim Jtrain correct every time, that's uber efficient and you don't have to be wasting any time listening to anyone.
I'm happy to have A320 here, bus driver, Bentley driver, hell I used to be a Saab driver. We are missing some nascar drivers though. It's all good.
Why post qualifications when you can post Mitch fails.

ZOMG, listen gear monkey...ok that's all I've got.
Absolutely no idea. The last time I was in Altus it was 1996 I believe. I was only there for a few months in 94 (Basic 141) and airdrop in 96. I have no recollection of wind direction, or even stockyards actually.
