Some people cannot get used to an on call schedule. Some can.

Id say that I work about 1/2 as much as my airline counterparts, but I have the potential to be abused twice as much.

Let me fix that for you. Charter/=Fractional. By all accounts I've heard, even the worst fracs are better than the best charter companies.

I more meant yes, I left Colgan for a fractional. I can't really speak for any individual "charter" companies, nor any fractional other than the one I work for now, but I suspect if you find the right employer even charter work can be just as good as any other type of flying. You just have to be lucky and find the right place.

Ive done 25 days a month and loved it until I met the girl of my dreams and hated it. I went form 135 to 121 and love the choice I made, but I also worked for a super crappy 135 place that paid low wages, airplanes were always broken, checks bounced, on call basically 24/7, had to sell charter flights on my off time, do Jeppesen revisions for 4 airplanes for the entire CONUS, Latin America and Canada (12 books per plane) for no additional pay, tug airplanes, book my own hotels, transportation, catering and sometimes passengers hotels and transportation. The experience was invaluable and great in the beginning but when they made us sit at the FBO all day on "standby" and refused to give us rental cars on our 7+ day overnights or even a decent hotel, I went running to the airplanes. I would say a decent 91/135 company would be better than a 121 gig but, unless you are positively sure that this place is a top tier company then the headaches can be much worse than 121. Would I make the switch from 121 to 135, probably not but I would consider 121 to 91.

I'm single and loathe anything more than 16 in a row each month. Of course, I generally do 18-22...
