I personally haven't gotten training there, but i've flown 'normal' airplanes into their field, and have heard nothing but good things.

Jack Brown's seaplane base has a good reputation with low rates if you traveling to Fl. Maryland has the cheapest in that region still I believe.
There are very few operations that will rent a seaplane to you after you get a SES add on, another one being in TX. The insurance on these things are the killer. To insure a C-185 you need at least 100 float time or over 3000 TT and 50 float.
