Second Jobs?

Well, it's LIKE a job.
Doesn't work out that well for me

Right now I flight instruct and ramp for Delta on the 4am to 8am shift.. Maybe sometime in the next few years I can quit the Delta job. Just have to have more students first.

Didn't you get a job in AK?

Long story short... I had a job, was offered it by the Chief pilot, accepted the job and everything. Even got drug tested and did all the paper work for a 135 job. Bought an airfare up there, along with some new clothes. And get a call three weeks later from the Chief of operations saying he wants his pilots to have more experience... Well, Ok cool. He offered me a job as a ramper, but I'm not moving up there just to ramp. If everything would've gone to plan I would've gotten up there two days ago.

Ouch..maybe a blessing in disguise? I'm not sure I'd want to work for someone that disorganized. Last year I was turned down for a CFI job and it turns out that school is a step below a 3 ringed circus and I now have a decent opportunity to do a fair amount of freelance instruction-probably about twice or maybe even triple the flying I do now.

Before I moved out here I worked as a salesman and phone repair technician for an AT&T store. Worked as a ramp rat on the weekends and instructed whenever I could squeeze a student on my schedule. There's no shame in making money, and it's a hard road if you want to do it in aviation!

Just left my second job (this week actually) as a part time line guy at the FBO my company takes hangar with. I worked there for over a year and a half, on top of flying part 135. The last 3 months have been busier than usual, so I got phased out at the FBO. It's bittersweet, I have been working non-stop, and will enjoy time to actually get things done at home; my wife will definitely like that. The extra funds were well appreciated (and needed) though.
