Just finished my ESV (electronic systems validation) which takes place of a company oral.

Only missed one question out of 190 and I'm "Riddle Pissed" because it was worded incorrectly.

ADS-B is available whereever they have the equipment, not necessarily ONLY non-radar environments.

But, you know, screw it all. :)

We arent going to be subject to daily updates are we? Um, day 4, "I had a V1 cut, and I like totally nailed it." Day 6, "VOR approach in secondary law, dude this FiFi is pretty cool" Day 21 "OMG, when is this ever going to be over" Its not like you are the first guy to go to 330 school.

You will like the fact that the rudder pedals come way forward with no stick in the way.

BTW, I will be in Mecca this weekend for CQ....you gonna be around friday or saturday for beers? I have C period sims

Need a place to put your beer that's at least 8 inches away from the throttles, right?

"8 inches, bottle to throttle!" <-- Isn't that how it goes?

Ahem, the preferred nomenclature is "thrust lever" :)

Until my type, this is the only plane in the world that exists to me!

(Let a brother exorcise the Boeing demons! :))

Headed home friday afternoon.

BTW, the instructor was talking about the first "south" guys that went through the program and said one was hilarious. I dropped a name. Apparently, it sounded familiar! ;) I'll PM you the name.

That's where our Boeing guys (737 round dials...haven't been through an Initial in 25+ years) are having the most problems. They try to make the Airbus a Boeing. Just think of it like prison. If you resist, it only makes it worse.

Even Boeings have thrust levers, and yet the system to manage them automatically is called "autothrottle."

I dont think hilarious is the word they would have used. I was a thorn in their sides as I had to listen every day about how superior their past ways were. We had a couple of fairly unpleasant discussions about that, that finally ended when I brought in the visine and put it on my desk.

ADS-B? That's cute, you're catching up to what that POS 1969 Cherokee I fly at work has had for 10 years!

Just kidding, and thanks for the writeups. I'm always down for reading a good airplane talk thread.
