SeaPort Airlines.....

I just scheduled a interview with Seaport Airlines for next week and I am trying to find some more information about them. So far I haven't had much luck. So far I know its Part 135 scheduled ops and they fly PC12 and C208s, that’s about all I know so far. I would like to know whatever I can as far as pay scale, schedule, interviews, upgrade time, etc... Thanks!

I also have an interview this week. The pay scale I have seen is 23K a year for an FO and 40K for a CA. That was old info though, so it may have changed. The schedules from what I have found have been across the board. Someone posted it is 4 on 3 off with the last day sitting reserve. I think most of the flights are out and backs so you might be able to be home most nights. There was only 1 gouge that I found here http://willflyforfood.com/pilot-interviews/233/Seaport-Airlines.html

I flew them once from MCI to MEM with a stop in HRO. It was very easy and actually very enjoyable as they operated 135 from Signature, therefore no security lines to go thru. During our stop, I talked to the PIC and he seemed to enjoy the job. He wasn't too excited about the schedule (don't remember what his was) and said FO's start at $16hr. He also said they were hiring at a good rate and having a hard time finding people. We had a pilot leave our survey operation to join SeaPort and heard he upgraded in about 13 months.

Have a buddy the flies the caravan for their smaller company, wings of Alaska. He really enjoys his job and has been there for a few years.

40k for a captain!? Yikes

It's really not that bad for a first year captain flying a single engine turboprop. It's comparable to a Metroliner captain at Ameriflight and that's quite a bit bigger airplane. Not that any of this is anywhere near what should be acceptable industry-wide, however just pointing out it's comparable.

It's 20.61/hr with a 70/hr guarantee. Everything else is true. :-)

How difficult is it to get the PDX base? I would have absolutely no interest in MEM.
PDX is small, however I think they'll need one or two FO's for PDX and one or two for the new SAN base as well. All others are sent to wonderful Memphis.

True....It just doesn't seems right for a company to call themselves an airline and then pay the Captains that salary...

Hopefully the captains max out over six figures.

That smaller Alaska company is what floats the rest of the "airline". Seaport's lower 48 business model can't sustain itself with out EAS flying, and that means they underbid company's like Georgia Sky's to get the contracts. I know they had a airplane repo'd a few years ago, and have cancelled leases on PC-12s when they heavy checks were due and replaced them with a caravan. As for the pay.. I think their 207 pay in Alaska is better than their PC12 captain pay.

That seems to be on par with the majority of the 135 operates I have come into contact with.

I'm sure someone will come along and say how their company pays 5x as much. Well, that is just the reality of the aviation industry. I hope I don't have to explain myself here, I think it's pretty black and white.
