Seaport Airlines hiring 500hr mins

I don't think all that 7000hrs is single engine piston time. He stated that he fly's an Air Tractor 502B with a Pratt and Whitney PT6-34 turbine on the front. Very popular turbine ag plane. Also SEAT (Single Engine Air Tanker) flying is done in turbine firefighting versions of at planes.

I'm in the same boat and its my biggest fear that none of my single engine PIC turbine time will not be a big plus if I move over to another type of flying career. Aerial application pilot/spray pilot is great for making lots of money but that's about it.QOL really sucks. I can almost taste the regionals. LOL.So close but so far.

Go in to an interview humble and eager to join that company, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Dollars to donuts says the other guy didn't get hired because of his personality.

yep you're probably right I'm just a stick and rudder guy not a 20 year old college boy, I learned my lesson, stick to what you know and cash my paycheck.

I'm guessing it had nothing to do with your logbook.
How much multi time do you have? Did you fly for the military? There are plenty of better 'airline flying' jobs out there for someone with 7,000 hours. Unless all 7,000 is single engine piston, you should have no problem landing a better job than SeaPort.

My guess is he's trolling.
no just an enlisted crewman in military, multi rating only no time to speak of all my time is tailwheel(lol) about 4000 turbine rest piston. I know why I wasn't hired but...
I was just thinking that flight experience counted for something. that's why I applied for sea port single engine stuff. I know I cant get multi engine jobs.

boy I guess since you have a background in aviation you must be a troll huh. that's cute but if pictures count and make me not a troll please look me up on facebook name JOE VANHOUTEN and there you can actually see pictures if that would help. I sure it must have been my personality that's how I got the other jobs I guess? I also stated I understand the pay issue and I make plenty of money but I did want to try a different type of aviation and that was my reason for interviewing with seaport. Sorry if you think because someone has flight time and looking for a job you must be full of crap. New Yorkophile I see the C-130 pic you have I assume you are a herc guy I retired from the Air national Guard unit in Little Rock AFB 154th training squadron 189 AW as a Load Smasher. I finished up my career there. So I will leave you people to bashing other folks and lets hope they don't have an opinion about flying. fly safe.

Nah I just thought someone with 7,000 hours would realize that SeaPort isn't where you should be looking for 'airline flying'. Get 50 multi and head for a decent regional of that's our goal.

Or, I'm sure you could find an awesome single engine gig that pays at least 2/3 of your current salary in a part 135/91 job.

We're over staffed on FOs and focused on captains at the moment. I think November we might start looking for FOs again.

Honestly only needs 25hrs of multi engine time for a regional this day and age. No longer needs 50hrs. You'll be able to log 25 hrs level D sim during training which is applicable for ATP requirements.

What are the FO requirements at Seaport? I have 775 hours, 43 MEL, 20 hrs actual instrument, 84 hrs simulated instrument, 180 hrs X-country, 20 hrs night. Night current, Instrument current, Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. Valid US passport. I recently got my CFI and teach part time but not near enough hours because I work full time on 2nd shift. Wanting to retire early from my full time job and just fly.

Are there openings in Portland? Is it possible to live near Seattle and fly out of Portland?

Website shows 500 TT for FOs. Have been told that all pilots are assigned to Memphis, TN base first. Have also been told that they are FO heavy right now and are focused on Captains only. Good luck!

Thanks for getting back to me. Would you know what are requirements for captains? How long would you have to stay at Memphis?

Can't say for sure but I would guess Captains are 135 mins and you could request bases according to seniority. Don't quote me on that though.

Yes that is what I was told as well... BUT... there is apparently also some sort of early establishment of seniority- within each class- based on test scores, etc. So if you are best in that class you may be able to pick Portland, OR, rather than Memphis, TN.
