Seaport Airlines hiring 500hr mins

I currently work at SeaPort as a CSA in PDX , they seem to want people with higher mins as they are hurting for captains and it will only be getting worse. Hopefully there will be room for some really low time guys such as myself within the next year, but if not I will just continue on with my training (CFI)! Most new hires seem to get MEM as it is our largest base. I have heard of new hires getting SAN or PDX right out of training as well though, kind of revolves around timing obviously.

Have a single engine ATP with 8000 TT, Need to stay in SAN, what would be the chances of holding same out of training? FO is fine...

Hey, does anyone know how long it usually takes to get a call back from Seaport? Just kind of wondering what to expect if I get chosen, I put in an app over the weekend, and ended up uploading my resume twice, since it asked for a letter of recommendation. If I absolutely need one there's a couple of guys and gal I could get one from. I'm sitting at 410 total time, i've been instructing for a couple of months and have my CFI CFII MEI.

Like I said before, they "prefer" 135 VFR mins. Their website states "Preference for interviews will be given to those with 500 or more hours," and this is very true. If they have enough applicants over 500TT to fill interview slots, then don't expect a call.

I know their August class is already filled, so if they want you, I am sure expect a call in the next few weeks

Thanks, and that's understandable, I got a buddy that went out to Hawaii to fly caravans and their also hurting for captains. No big rush though, never the less I'll keep trucking along with the hours.

Yeah, I had a friend last year go to Hawaii to fly FO in a caravan (maybe the same company). They hired him with 260 hours. I tried to get on with them with 300TT a couple months ago but they had just hired a couple new pilots. I didn't want to wait out an opening.

Really? I know some guys and gals that interview and they were told to expect a reply July 7 today for an August 2 class this was also posted APC. So why were they interviewing people for August class date if it already has been filled?

I am just relaying what I heard from one of their pilots this weekend. Maybe he meant that Seaport has already interviewed all they want and made their final decisions. Just the messenger :)

Thanks Colin. I know of a few that are expecting some type of communication from Seaport today from Lauren. for hey you made it - or a tbnt. So far nothing unless they are running behind. We are both so excited but really anxious. Sorry if I came off like a jerk. Using voice instamessage . :)

Does anyone know if they hire street CA's? Or how hard KC or Salina would be to get as a base?

They occasionally will hire street captains. However, they are probably going to want to see some experience on your resume first before hiring you directly into the left seat.

Kansas City and Salina are not bases... both of those cities are covered from the Memphis base.

You must have some wow factor your hiding from us :bounce:

I applied with them a few months ago with 400TT, CFI experience, college degree, glowing recommendation, etc

Never heard from them. Moved on. Good luck with them though! Heard it's great!
