Saw a Starship Today!!

Couple years back my <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

dad</st1ersonName> and I flew into <st1:City w:st="on"><ST1RVS in Tulsa</ST1</st1:City> to see some family. When we arrived late at night we parked next to a B-29 ready for an airshow. The next afternoon we discovered a Starship in a hanger and everyone there was cool with us getting up close. What luck!<O</O

I have no idea what the stats are, but my <st1ersonName w:st="on">dad</st1ersonName> said something like they're are probably only 4 of those things currently flying. Can anyone clarify how few avoided the scrap heap?

I've heard 4 and 6, not sure which is the correct answer.

Have you seen the Aerostar at RVS that the guy has removed the engines on the wings and replaced it with a Garrett turbine on the nose? It certainly looked like a major undertaking and some engineering thrown in. I got the opportunity to look at it and ponder for awhile, and they said they were about a week from flying it. I can tell you the name of the guy if you don't know.

Yes his name is Oscar... that plane has been a week away from flying for 2 years! It was supposed to go to Oshkosh like two years ago.

I've seen that Starship in OWB back in the late '90s when I was working on my private. I heard the guy didn't want to sell it back. Got to see him takeoff in it once and wow...looked good on climb out!
