SATS Air Hiring

Unless there is alot of Part91 DH that they will let you fly. That would be loggable!
Loggable, yes. Usable on applications and in interviews? Depends on the company.

I think it's SWA, for example, that wants to know when you were the assigned PIC, not just sole manipulator.

Either way, you're only getting a chance to log 1/2 of the flight time. Not that there's a lot of choices for 500 hour pilots, but I'm not sure this is one of the better ones. If you could find a 135 operator that has an SIC approval, training program and gets you a checkride, by all means...it's turbine! Take it!

That's what I keep getting.

ATP ~3000 TT ~1400 ME CFI/II/MEI AGI/IGI

I guess I'm not qualified enough to fly an SR22.

There just aren't any openings right now. Probably won't be adding more planes until spring at the earliest. Business is good though -- October shaping up to be a record month in revenue hours and sales. Company has flown over 5 million passenger miles as of September 24th.

Kinda crappy that they keep putting ads on 350 with no openings right now. I understand having a big pool to call people from when you do have an opening...but the people on the outside start to ask questions when this happens.

Seems like fun flying though.

I'd do it...but I don't really care about how much multi-jet-PIC-121-over 65k pounds-international-PIC time I build either. I think this is going to be something that we'll see more of the "retired guys" end up doing than the "entry level" guys.

Just a WAG.

And not loggable unless somehow you got a 135 Ops Spec to require the SIC, did the training and the checkride. I think Alpha does that...not many others that I know of.

Mini, what the heck are you talking about? Are you familiar with Part 135 IFR SIC requirements? Its not Alpha that "does that", but rather 135.101. Any passenger carrying Part 135 flight conducted under IFR requires a SIC. 135.105 allows the use of an autopilot in lieu of a SIC. It doesn't say "if an autopilot is installed, you may not log SIC." Even if one is installed, logging SIC in a single engine airplane is still legal and legit.

...assuming you've done the required 135 SIC training and taken the appropriate 135 SIC checkride, yes. If you're just sitting there as a hired pilot, you're a passenger and may not even touch the radios let alone act as/log SIC. I'm not sure how many 135 companies do that for single engine/single pilot airplanes. Maybe it's more than I realize.

100LL, I wasn't aware that Alpha was 91K. Thanks for clearing that up.

If you look thru my previous posts about Sats Air ,LLC you will see that I knew something about what is going on here. The aircraft are being runout and are being parked(3 as of this moment) behind the hanger at GMU. They are furloughing pilots and canceling previously announced classes. My guess is that the operation will shrink to only GMU. (most business comes from this location) . It seems that the right hand doesn't know what the other is doing ,but it will mean nothing to me as i will be gone in feb. or march. Good luck!;)

It must mean something to you, as it seems it's your life's goal to trash them on this forum. "furloughing pilots" BULL. ONE was let go. I think the reasons behind the termination are pretty well known. Two of the run-out engines were pulled and sent off for overhaul last week. Saw the truck there picking them up.

Hey Skydweller...How did You like that B.S. on the conference call. They have furloughed Pilots and cut a few more. Satsair going International...(you gotta be kidding me) Two more months and I'm out of there also. What does "bootstraping the operation mean".....yada yada yada.... T.M and S.H are the worst!:nana2:

No pilots were furloughed. One was, "let go." The others were aircraft washers and mx and judging by what I've seen of these guys, (and the fact the "furloughs" were higher in seniority than others that were kept) I'm sure the word, "layed off" was used just to be nice.

International ops is into Canada and Mexico possibly down the road, already approved on the opspecs. There's been a lot of news about other countries getting into air taxi too, and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that they would contact the most experienced and successful air taxi company already in operation.

Where is the button I push to make you go away?

Is it possible for you to give it a rest and quit spreading lies and slander about the company that you supposedly work for?

I know it's impossible for you to not have the last word in these threads on JC and APC, but I'll try to ask anyway: please, push the little red X at the upper right of your computer screen and go nite-nite. Last time I will reply to your BS.

Seriously.

I know just a few things about SATSAir; I was supervised by the same POI at a 135 gig I helped get up and running down at HXD, I met their chief pilot in a casual encounter at GMU, I know they fly SR22s, and I know they stay BUSY AS HELL. If its such a "sinking ship" why the hell don't you jump off and row your boat (the SS Bitch n' Complain) over to some other company?

I will be outta there in Feb...at earliest...New job waiting on aircraft delivery..You have had too much Satsair cool-aide. You can take your ball and stay Home if you can't take the truth.:rawk:

You can take your ball and stay Home if you can't take the truth.:rawk:

The truth is that if you think your current company is on its way to closing the doors, you find yourself another job and move on before it actually does happen and you're left on the streets in the cold. It can't be THAT bad if you have been there for however long it has been, and are planning to stay there for a minimum of 3 more months. You're contradicting yourself over and over here man. Either that, or you're procrastinating because you're too damn unmotivated to help yourself out.

Please, I already have another job. It is waiting for aircraft to be delivered and then I will be leaving this amateur hour company! In the meantime I will collect their money(won't be flying much over Holidays) and use some vacation hours. Be careful...icing season is upon us!

Hehe.. I had one of those once... :)

I never flew the aircraft that was to be delivered...

Same here

I now go by the old adage that until the new airplane is dripping oil on the ramp at your home airport, don't count on it showing up.

It is here...but there...(on ramp in OKC waiting to have the interior completely redone). sorry your aircraft were not delivered and you are stuck Here..:banghead:
