RVSM LOA

I am trying to get a plane to Alaska but we don't have an RVSM LOA...yet. Paperwork has been submitted to the FSDO but waiting for approval. The aircraft has been operating under the ADS-B reg allowing us to operate in the lower 48 without the RVSM LOA. Are there any waivers or special permits that might allow us to get to Alaska? I'm a little new to the no-LOA game, I've always had them on the aircraft I've flown.

It's been a very long time since I had any involvement, but if this is a one time flight, could you go under or over the RVSM altitudes. That could be done, but don't know if that option still exists.

Yeah it looks like filing non-RVSM is the trick....unless we get the LOA approved

It really isn't too big of a deal. Getting cleared through RVSM is given quite a bit. I've only done it a few times on newly acquired airplanes. I've even flown non RVSM international once.
